Condor, W-15, Bollinger Electric Trucks Being Sold Now, Via Motors VTRUX Extended Range Hybrid Electric Truck, Jay Leno's Garage; Elon Musk Story And Explanation Of Climate Change Free Negative Externalities

WHY IS THERE NO MASS MARKET, FORD, GM, CHEVROLET, OR OTHER LARGE TRUCK MANUFACTURER MAKING 100 PERCENT ELECTRIC TRUCKS?

There is a HUGE pent up demand for electric and/or hybrid electric plug in trucks, but there is no major truck company producing any electric trucks, and none of them are offering an electric hybrid plug in model easily available from any major new truck dealer on your local street corner.

Why not?

It is not a matter of them not knowing how to do it. Two of these large truck manufacturers actually came out with electric trucks in the 90's and then they stopped making them.

Why is that? Those EV trucks worked great, and there were no problems with them.

Much like the electric cars that came out and then were quickly pulled back and destroyed, electric vehicles and trucks face an uphill battle against an entrenched fossil fuel monopoly which does not want any competition from electric or even plug in hybrid trucks.

But where there is demand, eventually someone steps into the breach. This article points at the small companies entering into the electric truck market, and also how one large truck manufacturer seems to be (possibly) dipping a toe into the electric truck market, while moving VERY slowly.

Elon Musk has announced TESLA is developing both an electric truck and an electric semi truck. The large truck manufacturers better watch out, because TESLA may just take over the whole EV market. The fossil fuel controlled transportation manufacturing companies seem to be acting like a deer caught at night, frozen in the headlight glare of the competition coming at them, full speed. We all know what happens to a deer standing in the road as an EV truck comes at them full speed; they get run over and killed.

Huge transformational changes are happening in the fossil fuel auto market, and those changes will also sweep over the fossil fuel truck market, eventually taking out any truck manufacturer not willing to transform, change, adapt and 'evolve' into a whole new business model and way of operating in the world.

Hey big truck manufacturers; remember this?

In 1900, horses were the de facto way for Americans to travel, whether riding them or in horse-drawn carts. By 1925, that had changed: 15 years of the Ford Model T, or "Tin Lizzie," had revolutionized road transport and brought travel powered by gasoline to the masses.
http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1111781_will-electric-cars-take-over-as-quickly-as-cars-displaced-horses-from-1900-to-1925

10 to 25 years goes by fast. And if you are the first to market with an EV truck that takes off, it may take over the whole market, and leave the rest of them in the dust... What the big guys are risking is being made obsolete and disappearing, just like the dodo bird, the passenger pigeon and the horse and buggy.

STEPPING INTO THE BREACH; EV FLEET CONDOR ELECTRIC PLUGIN TRUCKS

There are now several small independent electric truck manufacturers out there. They literally appeared like mushrooms in the night, as little sprouts appearing the next morning. Will these small start ups grow and mushroom to take over the fossil fuel truck market due to the huge benefits and cost reductions plus less maintenance that EV trucks involve? Time will tell.

This firm deserves your business, if you are considering an electric truck. God only knows that the big truck manufacturers don't want you buying any electric trucks...

EV Fleet Condor 2015 Electric Truck

EV Fleet Inc.'s Condor 2015 is a pick-up size electric truck. The Condor is a safe and affordable option for fleet use on America’s highways. It will get a range of more than 100 miles between charges. Cost to operate: average of 1.5 cents per mile. No special charging station necessary. #PlugInPickUp

Say goodbye to oil and fluid changes, plus most maintenance, as the number of moving parts goes down on any EV vehicles from the THOUSANDS in fossil fuel vehicles to just a couple in the average EV.

BOLLINGER ELECTRIC TRUCK DEBUT

Robert Bollinger says his Bollinger B1 electric truck is the culmination of a lifelong dream. Revealed last week in Manhattan at the Classic Car Club, the Bollinger B1 has all the style and grace of a Quonset hut. Overall, its looks fall somewhere between utilitarian and purposeful. Although it looks like it was carved from a solid block of diamond plate steel, it is actually constructed almost entirely of aluminum.

This is an electric truck with a purpose — to go anywhere, anytime, and haul anything that will fit inside without burning one drop of fossil fuel. It makes no excuses and asks for no special considerations. It’s as tough as a truck can get and there are those who will love it for its straight-ahead dedication to getting the job — any job — done right here, right now

W-15 FIRST ELECTRIC PICKUP ALREADY HAS A WAIT LIST; BEING DEVELOPED AND SOLD TO POST OFFICE AS FLEET VEHICLE

PITTS STOP: FIRST ELECTRIC PICKUP TRUCK ALREADY HAS WAIT-LIST

BOSTON (CBS) — Workhorse didn’t set out to design an all-electric pickup truck.

“It’s exactly like nothing that’s ever been built before,” says Jeff Esfeld, Workhorse’s Director of Light Duty Fleet Sales.

The Ohio-based company was actually participating in a contest to design the next generation mail truck for the United States Postal Service when they realized the W-15 design could serve a larger purpose.

A mockup of the vehicle Workhorse was working on for the US Postal Service.

“Most of these vehicles are operating in an urban environment where air pollution is really a considerable concern. For utilities, city fleets, and contractors to be emitting zero emissions in a city is really critical and important,” Angela Strand, Vice President of Business Development at Workhorse, told WBZ-TV.

TESLA TO COME OUT WITH ELECTRIC TRUCK IN 18 TO 24 MONTHS

TESLA TRUCKS: SEMI TO BE SHOWN IN SEPT, PICKUP IN 18-24 MONTHS

Musk’s other tweet, concerning the much-discussed Tesla pickup truck, suggested that the company would unveil its design “in 18 to 24 months.”

That would put the date sometime between October 2018 and April 2019.

Pickup trucks are a huge and very profitable segment in North America, with the Ford F-Series lineup of trucks the country’s single best-selling vehicle.

GM, Ford, and Fiat Chrysler make a disproportionate percentage of their profits from those trucks, which now have an average selling price of more than $40,000 each.

Startups exist for that segment too, notably Workhorse (now owned by Amp Electric), which has proposed an all-electric pickup truck.

THE WORLD'S DUMBEST EXPERIMENT; WILL HUMANITY LEARN IN TIME, OR WILL IT SELF DESTRUCT VIA NEGATIVE EXTERNALITIES FROM CARBON AND NUCLEAR POWER MONOPOLIES?

Elon Musk's Unbelievably Simple 12-minute Killer Break Down on Climate Change
Video; https://youtu.be/xKCuDxpccYM?t=5m

Why do humans have to move FAST, to get away from carbon and nuclear energy and into a sustainable energy future? Elon Musk explains why what America and other countries around the world are doing now is the dumbest experiment ever.

ONE BILLION Cars On The Road Globally And That Figure is Expected To DOUBLE In 20 Years, What Is A Sustainable Solution For Average Person Within This Statistic? Double Down On Electric Vehicles
http://www.agreenroadjournal.com/2016/05/one-billion-cars-on-road-globally-and.html

The experiment is this; burn 1 cubic mile of toxic fossil fuel per year, and then also burn the equivalent of toxic heavy radioactive metal poison nuclear fuel, and see what happens over a long period of time. The entire carbon and nuclear fuel chain is toxic from one end to the other, from beginning to end. Those toxic poisons going into the environment produce consequences, such as a large number of negative tipping points.

45+ Negative Global Tipping Points Report
http://agreenroad.blogspot.com/2014/04/2014-list-of-45-global-tipping-points.html

Under the cloud of nuclear power
"Throughout the chain, there is another thing that happens over and over: the nuclear industry stores its waste at facilities located in poor and Aboriginal communities because of their remote locations. These communities also offer the least resistance against corporations and governments.

“We have an expression in Australia called ‘radioactive racism,’ meaning all of the radioactivity, nuclear tests, uranium mining and nuclear waste are always targeted at Aboriginal communities,” says Marcus Atkinson, an organizer with the Anti-Nuclear Alliance of Western Australia......Atkinson says he sees many similarities between what is happening in Nantian and Aboriginal communities in Australia that are struggling to keep uranium mining off their land.

“It is definitely the same tactic... The money and pressure divide the community, kill the resistance and get people fighting with each other. Then the government and company can do whatever they want,” Atkinson says."
http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/feat/archives/2015/07/30/2003624204

Meanwhile, there is clean, non toxic, renewable energy available for FREE, from multiple sources; wind, water, waves, geothermal, hydrogen, etc.. Humanity is afraid of those and won't use them or even do any experiments to see if it possible to use them and nothing else.

So humans are conducting a grand global experiment to see what happens when the whole planet is exposed to more and more toxic poison gases and heavy metal radioactive poisons, with no end in sight. Does this experiment make any sense? What do you think will happen by dumping more and more poisons into the environment, endlessly?

Can we call the present state of affairs Global Mass Insanity or GMI for short?

FIRST ANNOUNCED IN 2012, MASS PRODUCTION OF VIA MOTORS ELECTRIC HYBRID TRUCK WAS PREDICTED TO BE 9 MONTHS AWAY

First announced in 2012, and high production was predicted to be 8 to 9 months away. Here we are in 2016, and still no electric truck from GM. Who killed the electric trucks? Jay Leno interviews Bob Lutz from GM and takes a test drive in an electric truck that was promised to go into mass production in 2013. So far, no LARGE car manufacturer has dared to stick a toe in the electric truck water.

Via Motors VTRUX. Bob Lutz stops by the garage with Via's extended range electric truck. With a 4.3-liter GM-sourced V6, it takes four hours to charge at 220, gets roughly 100 mpg with a full range of 300 miles (no stopping and charging up) - and you can run your power tools off it because of the onboard electric generator! It can also be used as backup power for a home if the power goes out. WOW!

400 HORSE POWER, 40 MILES ON BATTERIES AND THEN 100 MILES PER GALLON AFTER THAT VIA AN ONBOARD GENERATOR

With 40 miles of battery range, most drivers won’t burn any gas in a typical day. Driving 50 miles in a day, 40 miles on batteries and 10 miles with the help of the range extender, the typical driver would average about 100 miles per gallon in gas fuel economy. When driving beyond battery range, the VTRUX still gets significantly better fuel economy than the gas model vehicle.

WHO IS VIA MOTORS AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING?

Wikipedia; "VIA Motors is an American electric vehicle development and manufacturing company. VIA Motors produces extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) by modifying trucks, vans and SUVs.

VIA Motors purchases basic vehicles from GM and replaces the conventional gas powertrain with an extended-range electric-drive power train. VIA then sells directly to fleets under the VTRUX™ brand name. VIA is beta testing its vehicles with fleet customers[1] and is taking orders from the public for trucks to be delivered in 2014.

VIA Motors received the NTEA Work Truck Show 2012 Green Award[2] for the VIA VTRUX truck.

History

VIA Motors was spun off in November 2010 from Raser Technologies, the engineering company that, in 2009, showed a Hummer H3 said to be capable of returning 100 miles per gallon when fitted with Raser’s range-extender plug-in powertrain.[3][4] Bob Lutz, former vice-chairman of GM credited as "Father of the Chevy Volt",[5] featuring an extended-range electric powertrain called Voltec,[6] joined as Chairman in 2011.

2010 – VIA Motors is formed from a private group of investors. Executives and engineers from General Motors and Raser Technologies join VIA Motors.

2011 – VIA raises $5.3 million from private investors including Carl Berg.[7] Alpha and beta vehicles are delivered to PGE. Bob Lutz joins VIA Motors as chairman.

2012 – VIA unveils a lineup of EREV versions of trucks, vans and SUVs at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.[8] VIA signs key suppliers, including Remy Motors[9] and A123 Batteries.[10] Fleet customers including Rocky Mountain Power[11] and Verizon Wireless[12]join vehicle testing program.

VIA offers versions of vans, pickup trucks, and SUVs as Extended Range Electric Vehicles (E-REV). The VIA VTRUX truck has a 40-mile battery-only range,[8] and a 35-mile range for the van and SUV. After batteries are depleted, a gas-powered generator creates electricity for continued driving, similar to the architecture of the Chevy Volt.[6][13]

Vehicle Specifications

Batteries

VIA's vehicles uses 22 kWh liquid-cooled nanophosphate lithium-ion batteries from A123 Energy Solutions. The battery chemistry is based on research from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).[14] The nanoscale structure of the Nanophosphate chemistry enables battery systems with higher power, increased abuse tolerance, longer life and the greater ability to maintain consistent power over a wide range of state of charge (SOC) as compared with competing lithium ion and other chemistries.[15]

Gas Engine.

Gas Engine A 4.3L V6 combustion engine is paired with VIA’s electric generator to form a gas/electric generator set. The gas engine runs only when generating electricity to recharge the batteries.

Electric Generator.

The 150 kW (201 hp) generator is connected directly to the engine and only runs to charge the batteries. The motor and generator are supplied by Remy International.[16]

Electric Motor.

The electric motor provides propulsion at all times. The 150 kW 402 Nm motor weighs 108 lbs and measures 11”x 11”.[17]

Inverter.

VIA claims the truck can be used to power a home in an emergency. PG&E intends to use the truck to provide emergency street power during outages.[18] The power export capacity is offered in 10 kW or 50 kW options. The inverters used for the traction motor and generator are supplied by TM4 Electrodynamic Systems.[19]

Charging.

Vehicles can be charged with 120, 240 or 480 volts (Level 3 charging station). Charging times vary based on input voltage, and can range from 8 hours with a household outlet to 3 hours with a charging station.

UTILITIES SEE THE VALUE IN THESE ELECTRIC TRUCKS

Pacific Gas Electric Co. has been helping VIA Motors to convert new General Motors trucks into plug-in hybrids with the ability to export a large amount of power. The utility, the largest in California, envisions sending a bunch of these trucks into the field for routine maintenance work and to deal with emergencies. The amount of exportable power here will be large enough to run hydraulic lifts to send workers up to do powerline repairs or serve as backup power for homes and tools while workers fix faulty circuits or transformers, said Dave Meisel, director of transportation services at PGE.

PGE has been field-testing two VIA trucks since last year and giving the car company feedback about its experience and suggestions for improvements. The utility estimates that the trucks could deliver annual fuel maintenance savings of $7000 per vehicle compared with conventional trucks, said Greg Pruett, senior vice president of corporate affairs at PGE, during a press event at the Detroit auto show earlier this month when VIA discussed its plans to launch not just hybrid trucks but also hybrid SUVs and vans. VIA plans to convert only GM models, such as the Chevy Silverado, for now.

FIRST GM PROMISED MASS PRODUCTION IN 2013, THEN IN 2014, WHERE IS THIS VIA ELECTRIC TRUCK ALREADY?

Hey! Where Is The VIA Motors Extended Range Truck Already?
Earlier still, do you remember the promised start of production on the truck “by 2013,” that turned into during 2013, that turned into “…(we) expect to begin selling to the general public some time in 2014.”

So what gives? VIA’s website has been unchanged in what seems like forever, it still lists an estimated price of $79,000 for a VTRUX, that you can reserve for only $1,000…with “Expected Delivery (in) 2013”

Well, Fleets And Fuels has an answer for us – saying that Via Motors is now focusing on vans instead of pickups because of a change in GM’s pickup chassis that “has forced a major design update for the pickup product Via had intended to bring to market first.”

IN 2015, BOB LUTZ PROMISED THAT 50,000 OF THESE ELECTRIC VIA TRUCKS WILL BE SOLD BY 2018

2015 - DETROIT -- VIA Motors Inc. a closely held assembler of plug-in hybrid pickups, expects to sell 50,000 vehicles per year by 2018, Chairman Bob Lutz said in an interview.

VIA's plug-in pickups and delivery vans, like the Chevrolet Volt, have a gasoline-powered generator that can extend driving range by providing electricity to the battery pack and drivetrain.

The plug-in trucks reduce fuel costs and provide electricity at remote locations for campers, catering companies, utilities and the military, said Lutz, who helped develop the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid as vice chairman of General Motors Co.
http://www.autonews.com/article/20150115/OEM05/301159956/via-motors-targets-annual-sales-of-50000-plug-in-hybrid-trucks

Maybe it is not such a good idea to put a 'deposit' down when the timetables are more shifty than sand dunes in a wind storm.. Let them put it into mass production and get a firm delivery date before 'ordering' one.

HOPEFULLY SOMEDAY VIA MOTORS WILL BE PRODUCING AN ELECTRIC HYBRID TRUCK

SUMMARY

There is a HUGE problem with burning toxic and dirty fossil fuels plus toxic anti-life nuclear fuels for energy. By burning these toxic and deadly fuels, we actually 'burn' ourselves via a global mass insanity, or GMI. Why would we choose to commit suicide through burning ourselves up both inside via poisons, and outside via global warming? Fossil fuel 'mining' and burning produces huge amounts of toxic, poisonous, and radioactive pollutants, but the fossil fuel and nuclear industries are allowed to dump these toxic and radioactive poisons into human bodies and the environment free of charge, with no consequences or payments.

Sol Man June 1, 2016 We live in a cloud of atomic to nano particles over number 92 on the periodic chart. Nothing could be further from natural for us. They land on everything, are in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and food we eat. "We" are all living beings. The technologies of disease and death will have their affect. To be on this road is insane, but here we are. Oh look, fiat profits!"

The fossil fuel and nuclear industries are Dead Enders.. Why?

Nick May 31, 2016  When we burn fossil fuels, we do the same. Fissionaries need to fade.  I put my money on those who fuse with our star. Simple. Our star is a great fusion reactor. All we have to do is catch the rays. Star children are we."

The answers are all there, waiting for us to make the choice. Do we individually choose to commit global suicide by continuing to support the suicidal lemming like rush to fossil fuel/nuclear caused Armageddon and a human extinction event, or do we individually choose to move away from taking these suicide pills that only an insane person would continue to swallow and use?

When will we start to take some renewable energy 'vitamins' and stop swallowing the toxic heavy metal poisons via the fossil fuel and nuclear industries?

http://agreenroad.blogspot.com/p/why-all-nuclear-plants-must-be-shut-down.html

9 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO LIGHTEN THE LOAD AND REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF GLOBAL MASS INSANITY

1. Do a carbon footprint analysis for yourself, your home, your vehicles and your organization. What you don't measure and track over time, you cannot change.

Carbon Footprint; How To Calculate It For Home, Farm, Business; Zero Carbon, Zero Nuclear Future Required, How To Turn 6 Pounds Of Gasoline Into 20 Pounds Of CO2
http://agreenroad.blogspot.com/2015/02/carbon-footprint-how-to-calculate-it.html

2. Test drive, then buy or lease an electric or hybrid vehicle(s), replace at least one, and then all fossil fuel powered cars you own. There is no more excuse not to drive an EV, now that there are two EV models getting over 200 or 300 miles of range, via Tesla and Chevrolet Bolt. At the very least, buy a plug in hybrid, like the Chevy Volt.

3. Switch to a 100 percent green electric power service provider and then charge your EV or hybrid vehicle(s) using 100 percent green renewable, zero carbon, zero nuclear energy source.

http://agreenroad.blogspot.com/2013/09/sonoma-county-california-powered-by-100.html

4. Plug your hybrid or electric car in and recharge daily with 100 percent green power (most hybrid car owners don't ever plug in)

5. Switch to a zero carbon, zero nuclear, zero chemical, zero waste lifestyle. Move slowly, start small and keep on shifting over to it...

7 Generations Zero Harm Project; Environment, Carbon Footprint, Holistic Living, Zero Point, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, Housing, Zero Nuclear, Zero Carbon, Zero Waste, Zero Chemicals
http://agreenroad.blogspot.com/p/natural-health-drugs-medicine.html

8. Vote only for those candidates that move humanity away from carbon and nuclear energy, and towards a sustainable energy policy. Don't vote for GMI promoters, like Donald Trump and most Republican candidates, bought and souled out for carbon and nuclear industries.

Young Turks; Donald Trump isn’t just advocating for “energy independence” he wants “energy romance” for America. He wants to ramp up oil drilling, and repeal environmental protections. Say goodbye to electric cars and trucks, because the carbon fuel industry is fighting them tooth and nail.
Video; https://youtu.be/9hvxmMIbaAM

9. Get involved LOCALLY, and get your local community to switch to a sustainable energy policy and come up with a plan how to make your community or neighborhood 100 percent carbon and nuclear fuel free.
