Explosive Jobs Growth In Green, Solar And Other Renewable Energy Industries - Carbon And Nuclear Industry Jobs Declining - 100 Percent Of Global Energy Needs Supplied By Wind, Water, Solar, Geothermal, Tides, Waves, Combined With Energy Storage Systems, Much Cheaper Than Nuclear

ICELAND IS POWERED 100 PERCENT BY CLEAN, GREEN, RENEWABLE ENERGY, WITH ZERO FOSSIL FUEL, ZERO NUCLEAR; WHY CAN'T THE US DO THE SAME?

If a tiny country like Iceland can produce 100 percent of their energy used for electricity, heating and cooling from a PUBLIC OWNED NON PROFIT UTILITY generating renewable energy, surely the richest, most powerful country on the planet can do the same, wouldn't you agree?

Why do US citizens allow private FOR PROFIT predatory capitalistic utilities to have monopolistic power and sell expensive, toxic, dirty fossil fuel and nuclear energy to a captive public, with no choices allowed?

WHY ARE SO MANY PUBLIC AND NON PROFIT SERVICES LIKE PUBLIC UTILITY COMPANIES SHRINKING, DISAPPEARING OR BEING PRIVATIZED?

The cheapest energy in the US is created by a public owned utility generating massive amounts of renewable energy from water power, where some customers are charged  only .02 cents per kilowatt hour.

Who pays the highest electricity rates? Why is it that nuclear is so expensive, with customers paying the highest electricity rates in the nation? Yet, somehow the nuclear industry claims it is the cheapest form of energy on the planet.

"4. New Hampshire
• Average price of electricity: 19.22 ¢/kWh
• Average monthly usage: 604 kWh per customer (9th lowest)
• Average monthly bill: $111 (24th lowest)
• Largest electricity source: Nuclear

3. Connecticut
• Average price of electricity: 20.31 ¢/kWh
• Average monthly usage: 711 kWh per customer (15th lowest)
• Average monthly bill: $142 (3rd highest)
• Largest electricity source: Nuclear
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2019/03/01/natural-gas-coal-nuclear-power-what-electricity-costs-in-each-state/38948593/

The most expensive power in the US is a private for profit monopolistic utility generating power via very expensive, toxic, dirty, polluting nuclear energy. In areas where fossil fuel and nuclear power is generated the average cost of energy from this private, FOR PROFIT corporations is between 8 to 12 cents per kilowatt hour.

The huge and growing cost of new nuclear energy does not include the cost of accidents/disasters, disposing the nuclear waste, guarding it, nor the cost of healthcare for those affected by these poison emitting reactors. Nuclear risks, losses and toxic garbage costs are thrown onto the shoulders of taxpayers, so that the financial burden is not seen, and becomes invisible, plus unnoticed. The fossil fuel and nuclear monopolies keep the profits, and transfer the costs, risks and losses to the public taxpayer.

Inequality And The Iron Law of Decaying Public Services | OurFuture.org by People’s Action
Installing a private court, of course, can run many thousands of dollars. In our imaginary suburban county, only a handful of local families — maybe one family in a thousand — have the sort of wealth necessary to afford a private court. Local contractors understand this market reality. Few of them bother offering private tennis court-making services. Private courts remain costly and rare.

But what if wealth in our tennis-loving county suddenly starts to concentrate? What if ten families in a thousand could suddenly afford to think about installing a home tennis court? At this point, contractors might start to take notice. More of them might start hawking court-construction services. Prices for private tennis courts would soon start sinking. A wider circle of affluent households would now be able to afford them.

Those affluent who choose to take the private plunge would, naturally enough, no longer frequent the county’s public courts. They would do all their volleying at home and invite their friends to join them. Eventually, noticeably fewer people are frequenting the public courts.

Local parks officials, in response, start devoting fewer dollars to court upkeep. The courts start deteriorating. Tennis buffs of modest means, disturbed by these shabbier courts, start looking for alternative places to play. A clever entrepreneur notes this burgeoning new market for quality tennis facilities and opens an enclosed tennis bubble. Tennis buffs of modest means quickly begin reserving court time in the new bubble. For a fee, of course.

Back in the public parks, ever fewer people are now playing tennis. Parks officials start ignoring downed nets. Why bother keeping nets up, after all, when hardly anyone is knocking balls over them anymore? The public courts soon start going to seed. They become eyesores.

Over recent decades, government spending in the United States has followed Peltzman’s Law as assuredly as if Congress had enacted it. Spending for public goods and services increased in times of growing equality, in the 1950s and 1960s, and fell significantly in the 1980s and 1990s, when gaps in income and wealth started rapidly growing wider.

In California, America’s middle class heaven after World War II, $1 of every $100 Californians earned in the 1950s went for the commons, for building schools, roads, water systems, and other public goods and services. By 1997, California had become the nation’s most unequal state. In that year, of every $100 Californians earned, only seven cents went for public services. The result: a massive deterioration of the California commons, from schools to roads.

A PLAN FOR SWITCHING TO 100 PERCENT RENEWABLES, PLUS THE COST TO MAKE IT HAPPEN

It is possible with the technology that exists today to switch away from carbon and nuclear fuels, to a carbon and nuclear free renewable energy future, according to a researcher who crunched the numbers and came up with a total amount needed to acomplish this goal.

It turns out the cost is less than what America has already spent on a failed war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

America could be largely free of dirty polluting and toxic carbon and nuclear fuels today, if the TRILLIONS spent on illegal wars had been spent on new and clean energy instead.

IF ENERGY STORAGE IS COMBINED WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES, THE US CAN BE POWERED 100 PERCENT BY RENEWABLES

There are many ways to store the excess and free energy produced by tides, wind, water, geothermal waves, solar energy.

Pumping water uphill is being done in many places globally, and it works.

Storing energy in batteries is being done in many places now, and it works.

Storing energy in phase change salt is being done in many places, and it works.

Storing energy in water is being done in many places, and it works.

Storing energy by converting water to hydrogen gas via electrolysis is being done and can store infinite amounts of clean, renewable hydrogen gas for burning, heating, or creating energy later.

Assume that the U.S. needs enough backup energy storage for just one day: Then renewables and batteries are already cheaper than nuclear reactors.....The investment to make sufficient electricity to power America, with an 80 percent cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, would cost anywhere from $1.28 trillion to $5.28 trillion.

“So in the best case, we are on track,” Heal writes. “In the worst, we are scaling up the U.S.’s level of expenditure on new generating capacity by a factor of about four.”

POISON PRODUCING CARBON AND NUCLEAR FUEL INDUSTRIES ARE SHRINKING FAST, IF YOU WORK IN THEM, GET RETRAINED AND BE PART OF THE RENEWABLE ENERGY REVOLUTION

Meanwhile, the carbon fuel industry job market is shrinking by 2% in 2011. The moral of the story is, if you are looking for a job, get trained for renewable energy jobs. Don't try to hang on to a career that is on the downslide. Read more about it at;

Of course, if you like plus support a dead end industry that produces death, suffering, cancer and destruction, go right ahead and work for or invest in the carbon or nuclear industry. They are mining poisons and are then spreading them around the world. Digging up poisons and spreading them around the world makes absolutely no sense if one cares about children and future generations of children. If you don't care for this kind of future, divest out of the nuclear and carbon industry, and put the money into zero carbon, zero nuclear investments only.

SOLAR JOBS CENSUS REPORT

State Solar Jobs Map 2013 and State Solar Jobs Census Reports
On February 11th, 2014, The Solar Foundation provided updated solar jobs figures for each of the fifty states through its State Solar Jobs Map. This year's investigation into solar employment in each state reveals that solar jobs were added in 43 states and the District of Columbia. As with last year, each state has its own shareable profile that contains up-to-date information on: state jobs figures, rankings of industry sectors by employment, key state policies supporting solar, and much more.

In addition to this update, The Solar Foundation also performed its first-ever "deep dive" into district-level solar employment in select states using the same survey-based methods employed in our award-winningNational Solar Jobs Census series. Download the full reports for California, Arizona, and Minnesota, or check out our state fact sheet for a lighter read.

SOLAR JOBS BY STATE GROWING BY 20 PERCENT PER YEAR, SINCE 2012

National Solar Jobs Census 2013
On January 27th, 2014, The Solar Foundation released National Solar Jobs Census 2013, which found that the U.S. solar industry currently employs over 142,000 Americans. This figure represents the addition of nearly 24,000 additional solar workers over the previous year.

The industry's nearly 20% growth in employment since 2012 shows that - for the first time ever - the solar industry exceeded the growth projections made in the previous year's report. During the period covered by Census 2013, average employment in the national economy great at only 1.9%. Between September 2012 and November 2013, the U.S. solar industry added an average of 56 solar workers each day.

THE CLEAN, ZERO CARBON, ZERO NUCLEAR REVOLUTION IS NOW UNSTOPPABLE

JebusAugust 7, 2016 Why The Renewables Revolution Is Now Unstoppable
Once upon a time, people imagined that replacing fossil fuels with renewables like solar and wind would jeopardize the electric grid’s reliability. Then along came some major countries who showed that it didn’t, and that there really are no limits to renewable integration.

POWER OUTAGES GO DOWN, AS AMOUNT OF RENEWABLES INCREASES ON THE GRID

The result was explained last year in a Bloomberg Business piece aptly headlined, “Germany Proves Life With Less Fossil Fuel Getting Easier”: “Germany experiences just 15 minutes a year of outages, compared with 68 minutes in France and more than four hours in Poland.

Germany is the most powerful economy on the planet to depend so much on renewable electricity — renewables currently deliver 28 percent of Germany’s total grid power (and up to 40 percent in some regions). The United States has a very long way to go to hit that level, by which time there will be an even wider range of cost-effective strategies to deal with much higher levels of renewables.

CALIFORNIA IS GOING NUCLEAR FREE, WHICH MEANS EVERY OTHER STATE AND COUNTRY CAN DO THE SAME THING

California Is Going Nuclear-Free, Which Means Everyone Else Can, Too
A historic deal to replace the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant with renewable energy could be a model for the rest of the country.... environmentalists see nuclear power’s toxic waste, high maintenance and building costs, marine impacts and security risks as not worth the pursuit and ineligible for being called clean energy. Until its radioactive and other risks are neutralized, critics don’t see nuclear as part of a sustainable energy portfolio in America.

SUMMARY

A renewable energy revolution is happening. What are you doing to be part of it?

It is much easier and better to be part of something that is growing, rather than fighting the process and trying to hang on to an industry that is in decline, which is what is happening to the carbon and nuclear industries.

Do what you can by investing in renewable energy companies, investing or switching to renewable energy systems or sources, and promoting renewable energy jobs, training and education.

This new renewable energy tide will lift all of humanity for 7 future generations and beyond. It is time to make rapid, large and paradigm shifting changes to a new way of living, working and doing business.

Giant Water Battery Cuts University’s Energy Costs by $100 Million Over Next 25 Years – EcoWatch
A giant water battery that stands three-stories high will help The University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia reach its goal to be carbon neutral by 2025.

The Queensland university’s ambitious target date got a boon from the success of the experimental battery, which was turned on in September and now generates enough power to power the campus’ air conditioning system, reducing dependence on the grid by 40 percent, as New Atlas reported.

The giant battery harnesses power from over 6,000 solar panels that line the rooftops of the campus’s buildings. It then uses that power to cool water, which is then used in the school’s air conditioning system. The battery is expected to save $100 million electricity costs over the next 25 years and to prevent 100,000 tons of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Queensland has 30 solar farms. Their power coupled with solar panels on homes and businesses produced 4,000 megawatts of power. By contrast, the region’s largest power plant produced 1,680 megawatts of power, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
