Because a fetus and children are in a state of extremely fast mitosis, cells can not repair fast enough from low internal dose radiation, as low as 10 Bq/kg. As a result, a fetus is either born genetically damaged, sick, or it is aborted by Nature and not carried to term.


MAN MADE RADIOACTIVE STRONTIUM DANGERS


After exposure to even low doses of radiation from strontium for example, children get sick and die. He explains that strontium is attracted to and absorbed by the bones as shown in the picture above. The strontium emits beta radiation, which kills or affects surrounding cells, so that leukemia is the result. 

Professor Sholz explains that the recovery rate for leukemia for children is 20% after diagnosis and treatment by the best of modern medicine.

Radioactive strontium mimics calcium, so the body absorbs and uses this heavy metal radioactive poison, thinking that it is using calcium, which is found in Nature.

"Once strontium enters the blood, it flows to other parts of the body. It enters and leaves cells easily. In the body, strontium acts very much like calcium. A large portion of the strontium will build up in bones. In adults, strontium mostly attaches to the surfaces of bones. In children, strontium may create the hard bone mineral itself, thus being stored in the bones for many years. Eventually, strontium will dissolve from the bones and return to the blood to be used again to grow bone, or to be expelled through urine, waste matter or sweat. The harmful effects of strontium-90 are caused by the high energy effects of radiation. Since radioactive strontium is taken up into bone, the bone itself and nearby soft tissues may be damaged by radiation released over time. Bone marrow is the most important source of red blood cells, which are depleted if the strontium-90 level is too high."

LATENCY PERIOD FOR CANCER IS 1 - 4 YEARS, OR MUCH MORE


The latency period for radioactive cesium and strontium to cause some kind of disease or cancer such as leukemia in children is between 1 - 4 years, depending on the doses of low level radiation received, and the age of the child at time of exposure.  Younger children are much more sensitive than older ones, and girls are twice as sensitive compared to boys.  But leukemia is not the only thing that happens to children exposed to strontium radiation. Strontium is also linked to diabetes in children. Here is one example of how this can happen...

Of particular interest was tissue from the young, whose developing bones have the highest propensity to accumulate Sr-90 and thus the highest susceptibility to radiation damage.[1] 

SUNSHINE elicited a great deal of controversy when it was revealed that many of the remains sampled were utilized without prior permission from the deceased or from relatives of the dead, which wasn't known until many years later.[2]

On January 18, 1955 Dr. Willard Libby said that there was insufficient data regarding the effects of fallout due to a lack of human samples - especially samples taken from children - to analyze. Dr. Libby was quoted saying, "I don't know how to get them, but I do say that it is a matter of prime importance to get them, and particularly in the young age group. So, human samples are often of prime importance, and if anybody knows how to do a good job of body snatching, they will really be serving their country." This led to over 1,500 samples being gathered, of which only 500 were analyzed.[3] 

Many of the 1,500 sample cadavers were babies and young children, and were taken from countries from Australia to Europe, often without their parents' consent or knowledge. According to the investigation launched after a British newspaper reported that British scientists had obtained children’s bodies from various hospitals and shipped their body parts to the United States, a British mother had said that her stillborn baby's legs were removed by British doctors. She was forbidden to dress her daughter for her funeral in an attempt to prevent the mother from finding out what had happened.[4]

In 1958, research for project SUNSHINE was brought to Belgium. Scientists started doing tests that were slightly different than those done previously in the United States and Europe, analyzing soils in agricultural regions instead of human bones. They headed in two main directions: environmental surveys and experimental research in natural and in controlled conditions. Their goal was to see the effect of Strontium-90 in the soils as well as to see how it transferred to the grass then to the grazing animals such as cows and sheep, the animals we get milk from and consume for food. Researchers also looked for direct influences of strontium-90 by observing how well the contaminated grass and crops grew. [5]

In an 1957 article, Dr. Whitlock, director of Health Education in the National Dairy Council, Chicago, Illinois, discussed the impact of strontium-90 in the cow milk consumed by humans, concluding that the effects of Sr-90 would not be detectably harmful to the general populace of the USA. "From the foregoing information, it would seem we have a long way to go before the presence of Strontium-90 in milk and other foods can catch up with the amounts of radioactivity to which we have long been exposed through natural resources." Specifically referring to the natural radioactivity one is exposed to from potassium-40.[6]"

Many nuclear scientists are hormesis theory promoters, but that theory does not fly. Radioactive heavy metal poisons cannot be compared to potassium in Nature, nor can they be compared to K40.

Recently, I learned of deformed fetuses that were spontaneously aborted at that time. I recently spoke to the sister of one of the dead babies, who although suffering from a heart defect, continues to work. 

KI, yes, there was free milk; I wasn't a milk drinker. As a child, I lived through it. The details on the fallout were kept hidden for decades. For many years the South Pacific was used as testing grounds by Britain, the US and France; however Britain was the only country to conduct atomic tests on Australian soil.

According to the EPA; "Strontium (chemical symbol Sr) is a silvery metal that rapidly turns yellowish in air. Strontium is found naturally as a non-radioactive element. Strontium has 16 known isotopes. Twelve isotopes are radioactive. Strontium-90 is a radioactive isotope in the environment, although strontium-89 can be found around reactors."

Who discovered strontium?

Radioactive Sr-90, like many other radionuclides, was discovered in the 1940s in nuclear experiments connected to the development of the atomic bomb.

Where does strontium-90 come from?

Strontium-90 is a by-product of the fission of uranium and plutonium in nuclear reactors, and in nuclear weapons. Strontium-90 is found in waste from nuclear reactors. It can also contaminate reactor parts and fluids. Large amounts of Sr-90 were produced during atmospheric nuclear weapons tests conducted in the 1950s and 1960s and dispersed worldwide through global air circulation movements and via the jet stream. Most open air atomic explosions threw radiation up into very high altitudes. 

What are the properties of strontium-90?

Non-radioactive strontium and its radioactive isotopes have the same physical properties. Strontium is a soft metal similar to lead. When freshly cut, it has a silvery luster, but rapidly reacts with air and turns yellow. Finely cut strontium will burst into flame in air and is pyrophoric, meaning it will burst into flames when exposed to air. Because of these qualities, it is generally stored in kerosene.

Strontium-90 emits a beta particle with, no gamma radiation, as it decays to yttrium-90 (also a beta-emitter). Strontium-90 has a half-life of 29.1 years. It behaves chemically much like calcium, and therefore tends to concentrate in the bones and teeth.

How does strontium-90 get into the environment?

Strontium-90 was widely dispersed in the 1950s and 1960s in fall out from atmospheric testing of nuclear weapons. It has been slowly decaying since then....

Strontium-90 is also found in waste from nuclear reactors. It is considered one of the more hazardous constituents of nuclear wastes. How does strontium-90 change in the environment?

Sr-90 emits moderate energy beta particles, and Y-90 emits very strong (energetic) beta particles. How do people come in contact with strontium-90?

Everyone is exposed to small amounts of strontium-90, since it is widely dispersed in the environment and the food chain. Dietary intake of Sr-90, however, has steadily fallen over the last 30 years with the suspension of nuclear weapons testing. People who live near or work in nuclear facilities may have increased exposure to Sr-90. The greatest concern would be the exposures from an accident at a nuclear reactor, or an accident involving high-level wastes.

How does strontium-90 get into the body?

People may inhale trace amounts of strontium-90 as a contaminant in dust. But, swallowing Sr-90 with food or water is the primary pathway of intake.

What does strontium-90 do once it gets into the body?

When people ingest Sr-90, about 70-80% of it passes through the body. Virtually all of the remaining 20-30% that is absorbed is deposited in the bone. About 1% is distributed among the blood volume, extracellular fluid, soft tissue, and surface of the bone, where it may stay and decay or be excreted.

How can strontium-90 affect people's health?

Strontium-90 is chemically similar to calcium, and tends to deposit in bone and blood-forming tissue (bone marrow). Thus, strontium-90 is referred to as a "bone seeker." Internal exposure to Sr-90 is linked to bone cancer, cancer of the soft tissue near the bone, and leukemia.

Risk of cancer increases with increased exposure to Sr-90. The risk depends on the concentration of Sr-90 in the environment, and on the exposure conditions.

Is there a medical test to determine exposure to strontium-90?

The most common test for exposure to strontium-90 is a bioassay, usually by urinalysis. As with most cases of internal contamination, the sooner the test is taken after ingesting or inhaling the contaminant, the more accurate the results will be. Most major medical centers should be capable of performing this test. A whole body internal scan for radiation can also detect strontium and cesium. 

How do I know strontium if I'm near strontium-90?

Although you are exposed to tiny amounts of strontium-90 from past accidents and weapons testing, you cannot sense its presence. You need specialized equipment to detect Sr-90.

What can I do to protect myself and my family from strontium-90?

Strontium-90 dispersed in the environment, like that from atmospheric weapons testing, is almost impossible to avoid. You may also be exposed to tiny amounts from nuclear power reactors and certain government facilities. The more serious risk to you (though it is unlikely), is that you may unwittingly encounter an industrial instrument containing a Sr-90 radiation source. This is more likely if you work in specific industries:

scrap metal sorting, sales and brokerage

metal melting and casting

municipal landfill operations.

What is EPA doing about strontium-90?


EPA protects people and the environment from Sr-90 by establishing standards for the clean-up of contaminated sites, by setting limits on the amount of Sr-90 (and other radionuclides) that may be released to the air, and by setting limits on the amount of strontium-90 (and other radionuclides) that may be present in public drinking water.

EPA uses its authority under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (commonly known as "Superfund") to set standards for the clean-up of existing contaminated sites. Cleanups must meet all environmental requirements that are relevant or applicable, including state regulations and regulations issued in connection with other federal environmental laws.

When these types of regulations are unavailable, or not protective enough, EPA sets site-specific cleanup levels. Site-specific standards limit the chance of developing cancer because of exposure to a site-related carcinogen (such as strontium-90) to between one in 10,000 and one in 1,000,000.

REPROCESSING FACILITIES RELEASE LARGE AMOUNTS OF RADIOACTIVE STRONTIUM


The US government also explains the harm that radioactive strontium can cause by pointing to the Russians and their uranium production facilities, which operated much like the ones in the USA. "The Mayak Production Association released large amounts of (90)Sr into the Techa River (Southern Urals, Russia) with peak amounts in 1950-1951. Techa Riverside residents ingested an average of about 3,000 kBq of (90)Sr. 

The (90)Sr-body burden of approximately 15,000 individuals has been measured in the Urals Research Center for Radiation Medicine in 1974-1997 with use of a special whole-body counter (WBC). Strontium-90 had mainly deposited in the cortical part of the skeleton by 25 years following intake, and (90)Sr elimination occurs as a result of cortical bone resorption…The radiation-induced decrease in bone resorption rate may not be significant in terms of health. However, a decrease in bone remodeling rate can be among several causes of an increased level of degenerative dystrophic bone pathology in exposed persons."

Radioactive cesium can have severe and negative health effects or case death fairly quickly. Here are some stories that show how quickly this can happen.








1,000 BQ/KG HEAVY METAL POISON RADIOACTIVE CESIUM ALLOWED IN FOODS/DRINKS, WHEN ONLY 10 BQ/KG CAUSES HUGE HEALTH PROBLEMS IN CHILDREN


The problem is that most countries (including the US and Canada), allow more than 1,000 Bq/kg of radioactive cesium in food or drinks, effectively making lethal radioactive contamination of all foods and drinks legal. 

What commonly happens after a nuclear accident is that the regulatory bodies raise the 'safe' radiation limits quietly, quickly and for however long is needed. This happened after Fukushima. No public announcement of this was made. What was made public with huge fanfare was when they lowered the allowable levels down again, much later, after the radiation levels had been reduced. 

Of course, no one would know if more radiation is in food or water, because radiation testing is difficult and rarely done, on ANY food or milk for example, even if it is known to be contaminated. Since all radiation is invisible, how are ordinary people supposed to know when food is safe or unsafe, due to excessive amounts of contaminating radiation of various kinds, including cesium? Ordinary Geiger Counters cannot measure radiation in food or water. It takes a pancake Geiger counter to measure radiation in food, at the very least, or an expensive $15,000 device that no one can afford. 

Due to the large numbers of accidents, spills, air releases, water releases, some legal, most not, the levels of radiation are rising around nuclear power plants, and around accident sites specifically. 

The above ground testing of nuclear weapons was stopped due to the horrific rise in deaths, diseases and genetic problems caused by the releases of radiation from these 2,400 plus nuclear bomb 'tests'.

10 to 50 BQ/KG INTERNALLY CAUSES PERMANENT LESIONS AND DAMAGE IN HEART FOR INFANTS AND KIDS


Post Chernobyl studies have shown that more than 10Bq/kg of Cesium in heart tissue can produces negative heart health effects. At a 50 Bq/kg load, children will have permanent lesions on their heart and/or other body organs. These lesions affect health and are the direct cause of death, through heart attacks or strokes. 

So the question is; how did health authorities come up with these 'safe' 1,000 Bq/kg radiation figures for food? The answer is that there are two different views on this subject. 

The pro nuclear apologists think and deeply BELIEVE that only large doses of nuclear radiation are harmful, such as ones that will kill you in a matter of days or hours. They BELIEVE with a passion that lower doses than this, do not harm anyone. 

Many of these pro nuclear apologists even go so far as to claim that radiation is good for you, through a hormesis process. In other words, people should expose themselves to MORE and MORE medical and nuclear power plant radiation, willingly, in order to produce better health.

They somehow believe that by eating, drinking and being exposed to MORE xrays, cesium, radon, tritium, and all the other hundreds of radiation producing elements, that better health is the result, even when studies show that even low doses of additional radiation are harmful.

If all of this hormesis stuff is true, then why do nuclear authorities and regulators as well as government agencies ALWAYS try to hide the facts when ANY nuclear accident happens? The Fukushima disaster has been minimized, hidden away, covered up and denied as all nuclear accidents are.

Accidental and on purpose human testing with radiation of all kinds have been minimized and denied, not celebrated and announced. If these releases were so healthy, they would be asking tourists to come in and bathe in the accidentally radioactive polluted rivers, lakes and streams, drink those same radioactively contaminated waters, and eat contaminated 'health' producing food full of radiation. 

Since this is NOT happening, the only conclusion one can reach is that the whole industry and all  the nuclear regulatory bodies are lying, covering up and denying the truth, while at the same time, promoting radiation as something healthy. If hormesis were true, radiation contaminated foods would be selling for a huge premium, because of their health giving effects. 

Because of this negative and dark denial plus coverup by the nuclear industry, very few or no efforts are being made when accidents DO happen, to mitigate or reduce the effects of harmful radiation in foods, water or soil, despite MANY solutions being available. After all, if they did this, they would be forced to admit that radiation is harmful, correct?

HOW TO REDUCE OR PREVENT ABSORPTION AND CONCENTRATION OF CESIUM IN BODY


For example, Lawrence Livermore Lab did studies on Bikini Atoll, after they exploded above ground nuclear devices there. They used stable potassium (non radioactive) to stop the uptake of radioactive cesium (which mimics potassium) and calcium to block radioactive strontium in food crops. 

In other words, if enough non radioactive minerals are available to either plants or humans, they know how to pick and choose between them, without effort. These experiments were done on yams, coconuts, and pandanus. The implications are huge.

But oddly enough, after every nuclear accident, none of this information is shared or used. Why aren't preventative iodine tablets (KI) handed out after nuclear accidents? Studies have shown that doing this in time, prevents close to 100% of the thyroid cancers that develop if it is not done.

COMPARING RADIOACTIVE STRONTIUM 90 WITH NON RADIOACTIVE STRONTIUM MINERAL

"Strontium deserves special mention because favorable clinical trials on this mineral from the Mayo Clinic were reported back in 1959. More recently, research published in the Jan 29, 2004 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine by Dr. Meunier demonstrated an average increase in bone density of 14.4 percent in the lumbar spine and 8.3 percent in the hip for 1649 women who took strontium with calcium and vitamin D. Vertebral body fractures were reduced by 41 percent in the strontium-calcium-vitamin D group compared with the placebo-calcium-vitamin D group over the three-year research period.

A publication in Osteoporosis International, Dec 2002 by Dr. JReginster examined the effects of strontium on early postmenopausal bone loss. Women who took 340 milligrams of strontium a day for two years had a 3 per cent increase in bone mineral density, compared to the placebo group which decreased in bone density."

Angela_R December 6, 2014  Yes there is a difference; i.e. strontium-90, an isotope, comes about because of the nuclear process; the natural earth element called strontium occurs naturally.

PRUSSIAN BLUE AS REMEDY OR CHELATOR OF RADIOACTIVE CESIUM


Other studies have confirmed the above. In addition, it has been found that Prussian Blue administered to animals reduces the radiation contamination of milk and meat by speeding up the elimination of radioactive cesium from the body, and/or by blocking it's uptake.

SADLY, NO ONE IS TOLD OF THE DANGERS OR THE REMEDIES BY NUCLEAR OR MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEXES


Sadly, the world and the billions of people on it need to keep on suffering from the negative effects of low dose radiation and living in ignorance, because the mass media is owned by huge corporations. These corporations shower only praises and neutral news that is positive to corporations on all of the stations, newspapers, magazines, movies and TV shows. 



SUMMARY


Negative comments about huge corporations that have monopoly power and huge advertising budgets are not allowed in the mass media, or if they are, only a few short seconds are allowed, ONCE. These huge companies can 'massage' what is showed by threatening to pull their ad budgets, or in the case of universities, threaten to cut off funding, grants or research budgets. You will not get this information via the mass media or in most colleges, schools or universities, because it makes the huge monopolistic nuclear industry look bad, and they provide the jobs for many communities, so no one can talk about them; it is TABOO. People will walk away from you if you bring up the subject.

Of course, even if some short news item about a nuclear disaster is shown, reassuring platitudes are issued right after that, with meaningless phrases such as 'no short term harm', or 'harmless levels' of radiation.  

What can you do to make a positive difference? 

Every person is important. Do what you can. Get involved.
