Mcalpine ·"The war was started on 15th May 1948 by Israel." Maybe, maybe not, because historically, both 'sides' can claim 'victory' or blame the other side for starting whatever war, or a genocide, by going back thousands of years and diving into ancient history. Any one of these conflicts can justify a present day Hatfields versus McCoys type never ending revenge motivated war and/or genocide. Just read the Old Testament about each side wiping out the other side, multiple times.

Julian Wright  Worth a look..... Empathizing with Gaza Does NOT Make Me Anti-Semitic, Nor Pro-Hamas or Anti-Israel. It Makes Me human.

Daily Show And Hillary Clinton; at the end she talks about how fear is the underlying motive the prevents peace. No one trusts anyone else. For lack of trust and over riding fears, plus generations of violence going back thousands of years, war continues. Clinton also describes how an Irish peace was negotiated, even after 800 years of war.

The state of peace that was gained after 800 years of war between the Catholics and the Protestants is a rough equivalent to the Middle East conflict. That example and the example of how South Africa got rid of Apartheid via international support and pressure provides both concrete examples and hope that peace can be accomplished, especially if both sides are willing to move beyond their fears and trust the lasting peace that results from a lack of hating another.
