According to Reuters (31 Aug. 2016):It was also not clear why people there had not been taken to safety before the storm struck.” While the evacuation “advisory” appears to have been a Hurricane-Katrina-style save your own skin, life-boat ethics, “advisory”, which left the vulnerable and others without transport, or places to stay, to die, the Japan Times (1 Sept. 2016) offered a slightly more complex explanation: “Bad communication among government agencies has been partly blamed for delays in evacuations.”

Even though the river levels had risen dramatically, this was not communicated due to “fear of causing confusion to the town office.”…“! What did this mean? That they didn’t want to upset people? It was impossible to evacuate, or they lacked the means, so they decided to say nothing? What does this mean? Because it was mostly elderly people they just decided to let them die? What happened to respect for elders? Some articles said that they had dementia, but this could have made them more frightened, not less. Was this just a rumor, or was it real, and just covered up, as most of the Fukushima nuclear disaster was? What has been confirmed is an admission of 'leaking' radiation from Sendai..

2015 Cracks and Leaks at Sendai as Typhoon Slams Nuclear Plant

Leaking condenser pipes are a HUGE problem, and this caused the shutdown of the San Diego nuclear power plant, which used Japanese condenser pipes that failed very quickly after being replaced. If five pipes are leaking, that means the whole assembly is close to failing and probably has other problems, such as vibration, etc.

Of course, this report of 'smoke' coming from Sendai was never seen in the mass media, and no explanation for it was provided either.

Every nuclear reactor 'leaks' all of the time, and it is just a matter of how much radioactive poison it is emitting into the air, ground and drinking water, not if.

BBC: SENDAI NUCLEAR POWER PLANT SITS ON EDGE OF CALDERA, VOLCANO IS OVERDUE FOR MAJOR ERUPTION, NO PLAN IN PLACE ON WHAT TO DO IN CASE IT ERUPTS

The BBC's Tokyo correspondent Rupert Wingfield-Hayes was the first foreign journalist to be allowed inside the plant since its shutdown, where they do a 'drill' around a massive tsunami and earthquake hitting the area. They call it the 'safest' nuclear reactor in the WORLD, and that Nature could not have brought it down if it had been in Fukushima on 3/11. Really? What happens if a huge lava eruption comes out of the nearby mountain and a pyroclastic flow engulfs it? They are not ready for that, either.

2016 - Japan earthquakes: Nuclear regulator refuses to shut down station on Kyushu Island
Japan’s atomic regulator will not shut down the nation’s only operating nuclear plant on earthquake-hit Kyushu island, despite concerns of a repeat of the Fukushima crisis. The Nuclear Regulation Authority’s (NRA) decision came to light as the race to rescue survivors of the deadly earthquakes in southern Japan continued, with 10 still missing and the death toll rising to 42. The Kumamoto region of Kyushu island was first hit last Thursday by a major tremor claiming nine lives which proved to be a foreshock to a bigger 7.3 magnitude earthquake striking early Saturday, killing a further 33.

You are not going to like this at all, peeps.

I found a rainfall website finally.

Malakas rainfall at Sendai Nuclear Power Plant from 18 September to 19 September was about 50 inches = 1272.5 mm

I added up all the rainfall by best guess on the color charts. I put crosshairs on a piece of transparent tape on my computer screen to mark Sendai Nuclear Power Plant. I added up each hourly rainfall that had rain from Malakas

50 inches.

18 September
12:00 – 12:59 20 mm
13:00 – 13:59 10 -20 mm
18:00 – 18:59 30 -50 mm
19:00 – 19:59 20 -30 mm

19 September
00:00 – 00:59 10 -20 mm
01:00 – 01:59 30 -50 mm
02:00 – 02:59 30 -50 mm
03:00 – 03:59 50 mm
04:00 – 04:59 -0-
05:00 – 05:59 -0-
06:00 – 06:59 50 mm
07:00 – 07:59 50 -100 mm
08:00 – 08:59 50 -100 mm
09:00 – 09:57 -0-
10:00 – 10:59 5 -10 mm
11:00 – 11:59 30 -50 mm
12:00 – 12:59 50 -100 mm
13:00 – 13:59 50 -100 mm
14:00 – 14:59 100 -150 mm
15:00 – 15:59 150 -200 mm
16:00 – 16:59 30 -50 mm
17:00 – 17:59 200 -250 mm
18:00 – 18:59 30 – 50mm
19:00 – 19:59 -0-

If the range was 100 mm to 200 mm for example I used 150 mm for calculation.

Total 1272.5 mm
50 inches.

With all the rain coming off the mountains, and the wind… ouch

I am NOT saying they got more rain than other local areas or the areas that were said to have gotten the most rain by authorities.

This was a biblical flood figuratively"

“Ice Wall” Around Fukushima Nuclear Plant Melts in 2 Places Following Powerful Typhoons
VIDEO; https://youtu.be/478ngYK8NUM

The ice wall really never worked at all, so these titles are a little bit misleading. The ice walls have been tried for years now, and for one or another reason, they just have not worked. There is no information about how much energy it is taking to try and keep the soil around Fukushima frozen. There is also no carbon footprint analysis for the amount of energy used to try and clean up, decontaminate, freeze soil, handle evacuations and all of the other carbon costs associated with multiple melted down nuclear reactors, such as Fukushima.

OLD GOVERNOR SUPPORTED RESTARTING SENDAI NUCLEAR PLANT, BUT GOT BOOTED OUT OF OFFICE BECAUSE OF THIS POSITION, NEW GOVERNOR PLEDGES TO SHUT DOWN SENDAI NUCLEAR PLANTS

Satoshi Mitazono on Sunday was elected governor of Japan's only prefecture with a nuclear plant currently producing nuclear energy. He campaigned on the suspension of operation of Kyushu Electric Power's Sendai nuclear plant.

Japan regional governor requests shutdown of Sendai nuclear plant
The governor of the southwestern Japanese prefecture of Kagoshima asked the region's power supply company on Friday to deactivate the two reactors of the Sendai nuclear power plant, one of only two such facilities presently active in the country.

Governor Satoshi Mitazono, who took over the post last month on an antinuclear agenda, petitioned the management of the Kyushu Electric company at a meeting Friday, according to local news agency Kyodo.

SUPPOSEDLY, JAPAN ALLOWS LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO MAKE THE DECISIONS AROUND NUCLEAR POWER, BUT MAYBE NOT ANYMORE, AS LOCAL GOVERNMENT IS IGNORED WHEN IT COMES TO SENDAI NUCLEAR POWER PLANT KEPT ON, DESPITE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND GOVERNOR DEMAND

Even in Communist China, (where citizens have no rights and the government is despotic) there is a policy of following the wishes of LOCAL COMMUNITIES, when it comes to nuclear power or nuclear waste.

Supposedly, in Japan, a democratic country, this same thing is true. Let's see how free and democratic Japan really is, when it comes to nuclear power. The local community is opposed to these two nuclear plants operating in their town, and have demanded that they be shut down.

Maybe Japan is becoming a fascist country, where a few people make all of the decisions, and local governments just have to obey. Maybe the new motto should be;

Heil Abe?

SUMMARY

Why would any nation restart a very risky, dangerous nuclear plant without any insurance coverage? The article above details how in 2015 the Sendai plant seemed to be having a lot of problems, such as a cooling pump either going out or having issues, a sea water leak, smoke rising from the plant, a threatening volcano, a nearby MAJOR earthquake and now ANOTHER power outage. What is going on with this nuclear plant in 2016?

What else could go wrong? How about losing a bunch of money, as tens of nuclear plants are sitting idle? All of the nuclear plants operating globally are no longer competitive with solar or wind energy, which has none of risks, none of the high costs, none of the dangerous nuclear waste and no radioactive 'spills'.

The solution would seem to be a no brainer, but Japan so far, is fighting the tide and trying to row up river without oars, and a leaking boat. Maybe it is time to stop fighting Nature? Maybe it is time to stop digging a huge hole and making things worse and worse?
