Ford C Max Solar Concept, Electric Vehicle Car Powered Directly By Only Solar Energy, NO PLUGGING IN Or Power Cords Needed, Off Grid Solar Power Sufficient To Recharge Electric Vehicle Batteries

Is there enough power in the sun to recharge an electric car? Can photovoltaic cells built into the roof of an electric car recharge the batteries on an electric vehicle? This article answers these and other questions.

A 5.3 meter by 4.3 meter Fresnel lens concentrator with solar cells underneath it on the electric car roof, would be sufficient to charge up an average electric car battery pack on a daily basis. A plug would be optional, only used on those days when it is raining, snowing or heavy clouds. If the sun is out all day, park your electric car under the Fresnel lenses and the concentrated sunlight will hit the solar photovoltaic cells on the roof of the car, and recharge the batteries, for FREE.

The fresnel lens concentrator would total approximately 20.6 meters, or 220 square feet. It would double as a carport, protecting the car from the rain.

Neil Lizotte This would work great with Sunvault Energy's graphene EESD's ( Electrical Energy Storage Device ) with a 5 minute charge time while driving, longer life and $100/kwh along with very light weight and 100% green.

SUMMARY

Bottom line, the answer to the questions posed at the beginning of this article is YES. The sun can recharge an electric car, all by itself. If a family or individual puts solar cells on the roof of their home or garage that would be another way to charge up an electric car for free.

Another way to accomplish this same goal for almost free, is to sign up for a 100 percent green energy plan through a local utility service, and specifically  request a renewable energy source such as wind, water, geothermal. Although this article is about a 100 percent solar powered electric concept car and a conceptual idea, it is realistically possible TODAY, for anyone who desires it.
