For cancer patients treated with radiation therapy that later die from a stroke, the official cause of death is stroke, even though the radiation therapy often caused the stroke. This is an example of how cancer cure statistics are misleading. The government contends that radiation therapy is curing cancer patients, yet long-term radiation side effects cause many deaths that are not attributed to cancer.


Symptoms of a stroke include sudden onset of:
  1. Numbness, weakness or inability to move (paralysis) of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
  2. Trouble seeing in one or both eyes, such as dimness, blurring, double vision or loss of vision
  3. Confusion or trouble speaking
  4. Trouble walking, dizziness or loss of balance or coordination
  5. Severe headache with no known cause

Within 25–30 days of the explosion, the Red Cross surgeon noticed a sharp drop in white blood cell count and established this drop, along with symptoms of fever, as prognostic standards for Acute Radiation Syndrome.[20] Actress Midori Naka, who was present during the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, was the first incident of radiation poisoning to be extensively studied. In just about any nuclear accident or radiation exposure, people who are exposed to even high doses of radiation are the LAST priority and focus of both the nuclear industry and the government. WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT DECREASES

"Leukopenia: The number of white blood cells decrease during radiation therapy. The normal white blood cell count ranges between 4,000 and 11,000 cells per microliter. Patients with fewer than 4,000 cells are at risk for developing an infection. Unless the number of white blood cells is extremely low, patients probably will not experience any signs or symptoms. This is why the doctor will frequently monitor the white blood cells using a test called a complete blood count (CBC) by taking blood from a vein.

MOUTH SORES


Radiation mucositis: Patients who receive radiation therapy of the head and neck may develop mouth sores. Damage to the cells makes it difficult for the mouth to heal and fight off bacteria, leading to sores and infection. It is important to see a dentist regularly to make sure the mouth is in good shape during treatment. Good mouth care may prevent infection, bleeding, and difficulty eating and swallowing."

The important thing to understand is that radiation is harmful, causes genetic damage and cancer plus 1,000 genetic diseases long term, no matter what the source. Medical radiation, working in a uranium mine, or being downwind of a nuclear plant are all sources of this harmful radiation.

FUKUSHIMA COVERED UP COMPLETELY FOR THREE MONTHS


In Japan, after 3 different Fukushima reactors melted down and out. It took THREE MONTHS after the actual melt downs for the government to even acknowledge that multiple reactors had suffered meltdowns and that any radiation worth talking about  had been released. No Japanese citizen was advised to take protective iodine KI tablets, despite the fact that it could have prevented huge number of thyroid cancers.

DEATHS IN THE US FROM FUKUSHIMA RADIATION


The government and nuclear industry actually moved people north, into the highest and worst radiation plume area.  The same lack of meaningful information and warnings happened after Three Mile Island and all other nuclear accidents. The lack of protective actions or preventative measures is the norm, not the exception. KI tablets are never handed out, despite the proven benefit in preventing thyroid cancers which take years to develop after exposure to radiation.  

In the same way, radiation exposure and warning of the dangers of even low dose radiation of whole populations has been a very low priority of both the nuclear industry, the military industrial complex and any government. Their first priority seems to be to save the company from looking bad first, then making the government look good by managing the press releases so that it looks like nothing bad ever happened. The keep repeating the lie that no one was harmed and no one died, despite radiation exposure to millions of people.

The psychiatric disturbances which accompany hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, the two commonest thyroid disorders, mimic mental illness. People with an overactive thyroid may exhibit marked anxiety and tension, emotional lability, impatience and irritability, distractible overactivity, exaggerated sensitivity to noise, and fluctuating depression with sadness and problems with sleep and the appetite. In extreme cases, they may appear schizophrenic, losing touch with reality and becoming delirious or hallucinating. An underactive thyroid can lead to progressive loss of interest and initiative, slowing of mental processes, poor memory for recent events, fading of the personality's colour and vivacity, general intellectual deterioration, depression with a paranoid flavour, and eventually, if not checked, to dementia and permanent harmful effects on the brain. In instances of each condition, some persons have been wrongly diagnosed, hospitalized for months, and treated unsuccessfully for psychosis."

FETUSES, INFANTS, CHILDREN AND WEAK SENIORS ARE MUCH MORE SENSITIVE TO HARMFUL RADIATION EFFECTS THAN HEALTHY ADULTS

Certainly the young babies and fetuses as well as eggs and fetuses of these 600 million Europeans were harmed, because they are between 200 to 2,000 times more sensitive to radiation doses than a healthy adult male over the age of 30. Yet, the IAEA and WHO do not make this distinction. So how are babies and children affected by low dose radiation that the nuclear industry claims has no effect on anyone? 

NUCLEAR INDUSTRY DOWNPLAYS, MINIMIZES OR DENIES DANGER OR NEGATIVE HEALTH EFFECTS


The problems with radiation exposure of a civilian or military population seems to be multifaceted. First, the nuclear company, the industry and regulators downplay or outright completely deny the dangers and hazards of low level radiation in a wide variety of ways.

Second; the government is often controlled and manipulated by the industry via revolving doors, a variety of bribery type influences and political pressure or promises of financial support for their district either with jobs, research grants, education grants, etc. Thus the government and regulators are often complicit in a denial of any harm from radiation and refuse to seriously investigate the effects of low level radiation after any nuclear accident, much less report on the actual extremely high radiation releases.

LOW DOSE MAN MADE RADIATION IS WELL KNOWN TO CAUSE INFANT DEATHS, CANCERS AND BIRTH DEFECTS, SUCH AS DOWN'S SYNDROME

The nuclear industry and their pro nuclear apologists deny anyone died or that any birth defects are caused by massive releases of radiation from nuclear accidents such as Fukushima or Chernobyl, much less the other 30 nuclear accidents. They also deny any deaths, or genetic damage is caused by ingesting cumulative doses of internal radiation. They deny that radiation can be bio accumulated or concentrated in animals or humans. They deny that this internal radiation has any effects. The Japanese government is moving people back into radiation contaminated area, with the full support of the pro nuclear apologists and nuclear industry regulators.

“Down's syndrome in babies may be caused by the mothers' exposure to radiation, a major German study has discovered. “Researchers from the Freie University in Berlin have discovered a direct link between the syndrome which suddenly increased six-fold in the city in January, 1987 and the Chernobyl nuclear reactor accident which happened nine months earlier. “These women were breathing in high levels of radiation especially iodine 131 for two weeks after the accident during which time they conceived. “The researchers were able to discount the usual theory that Down's syndrome is related to the age of the mother. In 1987, the average age of a mother with a Down's baby was 27.2 against the 10-year average of 27.4, and the percentage of mothers over 35 was 11.5 against the 10-year average of 11.2 per cent.

Incidents of Down's syndrome increased dramatically in Kerala, India and Yangjiang County, China after women were exposed to similarly high levels of background radiation from the soil. “The study group, led by Profesor Karl Sperling, accepts its evidence ‘contradicts current textbook opinion.’ Writing in the BMJ (16 July 1994), they say that any exposure to ionizing radiation, especially around conception, should be avoided. “The age of the mother per se would not seem a reliable indicator of Down's syndrome except that the older mother may have a higher build-up of radiation.

The review is a meta-analysis of studies of locations around the globe that have very high natural background radiation as a result of the minerals in the ground there, including Ramsar, Iran, Mombasa, Kenya, Lodeve, France, and Yangjiang, China. These, and a few other geographic locations with natural background radiation that greatly exceeds normal amounts, have long drawn scientists intent on understanding the effects of radiation on life..”

MEDICAL INDUSTRY PROFITS FROM NUCLEAR INDUSTRY THROUGH WASTE PRODUCTS AND RADIATION SERVICES, DENIES ANY HARM IS CAUSED BY RADIATION


Third, the medical industry is also heavily influenced by the nuclear industry, by direct compensation to medical universities, where medical professionals are NOT trained to recognize or deal with low level radiation health effects. On the contrary, doctors and nurses are trained only in the beneficial effects of treating diseases with radiation, thus the assumption is made by many of them that no harm can come to any person from a low level or even high levels of exposure to radiation. 

In civilized countries all over the world the nuclear industry has many financial, educational and political tentacles that reach deeply into the medical, media, military, political and regulator spheres. This deadly influence of the nuclear industry has severe negative consequences. The end result of the mass media, government, military and medical industry all having their hands in the nuclear industry profits is that nothing changes, and the poisons keep pouring out.


FUKUSHIMA HOSPITAL DOES NOT PROVIDE RADIATION TESTING, EVEN IF PATIENT OR PERSONAL DOCTOR OUTSIDE LOCAL AREA REQUESTS IT


In Japan, the nuclear industry has ordered Fukushima area hospitals, doctors and radiation testing labs to not provide internal radiation testing for any person or food item and to refuse to investigate high or low level radiation related health complaints by residents.

It's very sad and heartbreaking to see this happen. And so many have been moving to California. One that moved there five years ago just recently all of a sudden is fighting for her life. I did try to warn her back then. I could never bring that up now. I dread what is yet to come. This is just the beginning. Peace"


WHAT YOU CAN DO; HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM LOW DOSE NUCLEAR RADIATION

The risks and dangers from external or internal medical radiation and the radiation from nuclear plant accidents are exactly the same. Could radiating someone on purpose and injecting someone with toxic chemicals not necessarily be the 'best' choice as both radiation and chemicals cause further harm?
