Billionaires and their 1 percent allies use a divide and conquer strategy plus threats, intimidation and violence when all else fails to grab absolute power and control. Hitler used this tactic, as does every despot rising to dictatorship. As a result, the United States suffers a number of pathologies that do not plague other advanced nations: “In areas such as public education, health and wellness, personal safety, water and sanitation, environmental quality, and tolerance and inclusion, among others, U.S. progress has stalled or gone in reverse.”

Rather than leading the world in these areas, America has tumbled down the list compared to other advanced countries, perhaps most notably in the area of education.

The U.S. has found its way to a poorly educated public, which necessarily limits citizens’ economic opportunities, and has fallen well behind other advanced economies. Gehl and Porter noted that in 2015, the U.S. ranked 31st out of 35 OECD countries in math, after hitting the 25 spot in 2009. Similarly, the U.S. dropped from 14th in reading to 20th, and in science, from 17th to 19th.

“The result: America’s political system today would be unrecognizable to our founders. In fact, certain of our founders warned against political parties,” they wrote.

John Adams, our second President, said, “There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other.”

Our founders— and most Americans today—would be shocked by the extent to which our democracy has been hijacked by the private and largely unaccountable organizations that constitute today’s political industrial complex.

The greatest evils in modern society according to MLK Jr are racism, militarism and predatory capitalism. Guess why Trump symbolizes? Racism, militarism and predatory capitalism.

Many to most of billionaires and fundamentalist evangelicals who support Trump are to a large extent, caught up in the same xenophobic complex that he is. More often than not, this boils down to supporting or allying with racism, militarism and predatory capitalism. Bottom line, these things create fascism, by definition.

Anything violating Natural Law generates negative consequences. Racism, militarism and predatory capitalism all violate Natural Laws in many ways. The US is experiencing the negative consequences of these violations, even if human laws legalize and promote these violations. These negative consequences will only increase in the future, as the worst 3 darkness and evils are focused on plus supported, as outlined above by MLK Jr.

Facebook, Google, and Wells Fargo are all prominent sponsors this year’s conference of a Koch-funded network of right-wing think tanks and advocacy groups, several of which promote far-right beliefs, including Islamophobia, homophobia and sexism.

Facebook is giving branded travel mugs to attendees of the 2019 State Policy Network (SPN) conference, which begins today at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs:


Colorado SPN member groups include the Independence Institute, the Centennial Institute, Leadership Program of the Rockies, Steamboat Institute, and the Mountain States Legal Fund.

Many of the SPN members have longstanding ties to the Koch empire, which has deep connections to the Republican Party and has advocated for conservative policies at the national and state levels for decades.

Below is a short video clip about how the Koch Brothers fund their 'favorite' candidates. 

The political candidate who receives the most money 'donations' during any local, state or federal election wins about 95% of the time. 

This means that ONE large corporation (like the Koch Brothers) can bankroll an election for many local, state and federal candidates and be almost guaranteed to get 'their' person into office to do their bidding, about 95% of the time. They can assure a win, by just giving more money to their candidate than the opposition does. In many cases, corporations outspend unions and ordinary folks by a factor of between 200 to 1,000 PERCENT.

US Uncut; Ahead of the largest climate march in history, New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art honored oil billionaire David Koch by renaming public space and two grand fountains with his name on Wednesday evening. Activists greeted the dedication ceremony to inform everyone that Koch Industries contributes to the melting of the ice caps which one day might flood the museum itself. Unfortunately, the action ended when NYPD officers arrested activists from the NYC Light Brigade who are known for spelling out slogans in illuminated letters. Police also confiscated The Illuminator and say they will keep it as "evidence" until November-- ruining activists' plans for the People's Climate March.

Then we have a problem with the SUPERPACS, which allow anonymous donors to give unlimited amounts to a fund in favor of one candidate or another. This money can come from any source, anywhere in the world, including Communist China, Russia, North Korea, or other dictatorial regimes. Do we really want foreign countries controlling US elections, via avalanches of foreign money?

This avalanche of foreign money thrown at a campaign corrupts our democracy and makes our government look more and more like a corporate fascist state, instead of what the founders meant it to be.

Corporations own and control 99% of mass media that candidates are given air time on. How much air time is given to each candidate can swing an election one way or the other. Where they are put on the podium, makes a difference. How often they are called on and how much time they are given during a debate also influences the result. All of these techniques and more are used to 'swing' an election.

Corporate advertisers also exert 'influence' on media to put one person on or take off another person that they disagree with, or they threaten the media outlet that they will 'pull' their advertising. These corporate owned media outlets and advertisers KNOW all of this and use it fully to their advantage. The result? You will not see a corporate 'unfriendly' word spoken on mass media TV about 99% of the time, on any show, interview, movie, etc. Why do they call TV 'programming'? Because what is shown on TV is largely about programming people in how to think and what to think about. Most people only think and talk about what is on TV, not about anything else. How is that NOT programming people? 

A few large corporations are also funding a few groups as shown in the video below, and give them money for meetings, buses, signs, provide air time, announce meeting dates, etc, while hiding their affiliation and financial support behind the scenes. These corporations then also set the agenda and field the candidates.

The Radical Christian Right and the War on Government
There is a desire felt by tens of millions of Americans, lumped into a diffuse and fractious movement known as the Christian right, to destroy the intellectual and scientific rigor of the Enlightenment, radically diminish the role of government to create a theocratic state based on “biblical law,” and force a recalcitrant world to bend to the will of an imperial and “Christian” America. Its public face is on display in the House of Representatives. This ideology, which is the driving force behind the shutdown of the government, calls for the eradication of social “deviants,” beginning with gay men and lesbians, whose sexual orientation, those in the movement say, is a curse and an illness, contaminating the American family and the country.


Once these “deviants” are removed, other “deviants,” including Muslims, liberals, feminists, intellectuals, left-wing activists, undocumented workers, poor African-Americans and those dismissed as “nominal Christians” — meaning Christians who do not embrace this peculiar interpretation of the Bible — will also be ruthlessly repressed. The “deviant” government bureaucrats, the “deviant” media, the “deviant” schools and the “deviant” churches, all agents of Satan, will be crushed or radically reformed. The rights of these “deviants” will be annulled. “Christian values” and “family values” will, in the new state, be propagated by all institutions. Education and social welfare will be handed over to the church. Facts and self-criticism will be replaced with relentless indoctrination.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz — whose father is Rafael Cruz, a rabid right-wing Christian preacher and the director of the Purifying Fire International ministry — and legions of the senator’s wealthy supporters, some of whom orchestrated the shutdown, are rooted in a radical Christian ideology known as Dominionism or Christian Reconstructionism.

This ideology calls on anointed “Christian” leaders to take over the state and make the goals and laws of the nation “biblical.” It seeks to reduce government to organizing little more than defense, internal security and the protection of property rights.

Shockingly, oil mogul, David Koch, sits on the board of our nation’s largest and most respected natural history museums. 

Museums are among the most trusted sources for information in the country. They have tremendous influence on culture and are close to the hearts and minds of generations of Americans. 

So why are the Smithsonian and the American Museum of Natural History associating with special interests who deny climate science, oppose clean energy legislation, and seek to ease limits on corporate polluters? There is a clear contradiction between the mission of these museums and the politics of David Koch.

David Koch donated $15 million to the Smithsonian to fund an exhibit on evolution and climate change.[2]This would be great, if it weren’t backed by profits from dirty fossil fuels that are one of the greatest contributing factors to environmental degradation around the globe.[3] 

Koch’s anti-science, anti-education approach to climate change is misleading and doesn’t belong at scientific research institutions like the Smithsonian or the American Museum of Natural History. 

Climate change is one of the greatest, most pressing problems facing modern civilization. The Smithsonian and the American Museum of Natural History must consider the role they play in educating the public by dropping David Koch. 

Known climate denier, David Koch, sits on the board of our nation’s largest and most respected natural history museums. His politics don't belong at scientific research institutions like the Smithsonian and the American Museum of Natural History. Help me demand his removal from these boards. Sign the petition now!

SUMMARY


Huge monopolistic corporate heads such as the Koch Brothers are behind everything that happens or does not happen inside government or outside of it. To tackle our problems, first we have to get at the root of the problem, not slash at the leaves and weeds, which only grow back with more vigor the more that they are mowed.

There is a huge consequence to allowing huge corporations to take over government, because that is the definition of fascism.
