The flu is “far deadlier” than coronavirus, reads one story. That echoes the remarks of another noted climate change denier, Rush Limbaugh, who compared the pandemic to the common cold. Another one claimed that the country’s health care system was ideally suited to handle the surge of a pandemic, noting that Ebola never spread widely in the U.S.

What’s extra notable about these writings is that their authors have been interviewed about coronavirus in major, mainstream news outlets like the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo News, New York Magazine, and others.

Denial is a universal human condition.. When faced with a difficult to handle subject like a superbug that possibly presents a global existential threat to modern society, denial is pretty much the go to phase for most people. Denying that a pandemic exists and refusing to test for it, does not make a pandemic magically disappear, sad to say.

The problem is that as these right wing conspiracy theory stories spread, Republicans who read, listen and watch this stuff are growing more complacent, unwilling to change and stuck in denial. When reality finally hits, it will be extremely painful and the denial will cause a lot more suffering plus deaths.

Denial; Trump quote on March 10: "It will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away." The Coronavirus is going to die out when warm weather hits, so we do not have to do anything.

March 10: “It will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”

The amount of denial and deception and misinformation Trump has produced about coronavirus, even as the disease spreads and its threat increases, has been a serious danger to the people of the United States. And with the number of people infected rising daily—not that we know how high the number is, thanks to a lack of testing due to Trump administration mismanagement—we’re just now starting to learn how high a price we’ll all pay for his failure of leadership.

Denial also take the form of selfish ego based reactions such as fear plus PROFIT; "One reason federal health officials took so long to act appeared to be Trump’s reluctance to declare a national emergency, which would have conflicted with his repeated efforts to downplay the seriousness of the epidemic.

Denial contains both fear and selfishness; "Irrational and selfish incidents like these are likely the exception, not the rule, but an everyone-for-themselves mentality -- or each family, even each country -- appears to be growing, putting into question the world's ability to unite and slow the coronavirus' spread.

Trump shut down the entire Global Health Security and Bio-defense agency. Yes, he did.
Amid the explosive worldwide outbreak of the virus, Trump proposed a 19% cut to the budget of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plus a 10% cut to Public Health Services and a 7% cut to Global Health Services. Those happen to be the organizations that respond to public health threats.

Trump is but a continuation of an ongoing class war against American workers whereby wealth has been massively redistributed to corporate bosses and stock market vehicles which benefit the top 1 per cent in society. For this upper stratum, profits and dividends have never been so lucrative. And to be sure “their” economy looks superfine and dandy.

For the majority though, a very different perspective prevails. After years of chronic impoverishment through stagnating wages and crumby employment conditions, workers in the US are more vulnerable than ever to economic calamity, be that from a disease epidemic or property-market crash.

This is why America’s wages of sin are inviting a coronavirus epidemic from hell. The relatively low rates of infection so far for a population of 327 million belie a catastrophic latency for the disease because so many workers are necessarily in denial about the illness and its risks.

Trump and Congress have ordered emergency funding of around $8 billion to counter the epidemic. But the problem is one of endemic social conditions of massive inequality, poverty, derelict workers’ rights and a healthcare system driven by commercial profit. That militates against the very rapid response that is required to contain the disease.

The model was first introduced by Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross in her 1969 book On Death and Dying, and was inspired by her work with terminally ill patients.[3] Motivated by the lack of instruction in medical schools on the subject of death and dying, Kübler-Ross examined death and those faced with it at the University of Chicago's medical school.

Kübler-Ross' project evolved into a series of seminars which, along with patient interviews and previous research, became the foundation for her book.[4] Although Kübler-Ross is commonly credited with creating stage models, earlier bereavement theorists and clinicians such as Erich Lindemann, Collin Murray Parkes, and John Bowlby used similar models of stages of phases as early as the 1940s.[5]

Later in her life, Kübler-Ross noted that the stages are not a linear and predictable progression and that she regretted writing them in a way that was misunderstood.[6] "Kübler-Ross originally saw these stages as reflecting how people cope with illness and dying," observed grief researcher Kenneth J. Doka, "not as reflections of how people grieve."[7]

The stages, popularly known by the acronym DABDA, include:[8]

Denial – The first reaction is denial. In this stage, individuals believe the diagnosis is somehow mistaken, and cling to a false, preferable reality.

Anger – When the individual recognizes that denial cannot continue, they become frustrated, especially at proximate individuals. Certain psychological responses of a person undergoing this phase would be: "Why me? It's not fair!"; "How can this happen to me?"; "Who is to blame?"; "Why would this happen?".

Bargaining – The third stage involves the hope that the individual can avoid a cause of grief. Usually, the negotiation for an extended life is made in exchange for a reformed lifestyle. People facing less serious trauma can bargain or seek compromise. Examples include the terminally ill person who "negotiates with God" to attend a daughter's wedding, an attempt to bargain for more time to live in exchange for a reformed lifestyle or a phrase such as "If I could trade their life for mine".

Depression – "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die soon, so what's the point?"; "I miss my loved one; why go on?"

During the fourth stage, the individual despairs at the recognition of their mortality. In this state, the individual may become silent, refuse visitors and spend much of the time mournful and sullen.

Acceptance – "It's going to be okay."; "I can't fight it; I may as well prepare for it."

In this last stage, individuals embrace mortality or inevitable future, or that of a loved one, or other tragic event. People dying may precede the survivors in this state, which typically comes with a calm, retrospective view for the individual, and a stable condition of emotions.

In a book co-authored with David Kessler and published posthumously, Kübler-Ross expanded her model to include any form of personal loss, such as the death of a loved one, the loss of a job or income, major rejection, the end of a relationship or divorce, drug addiction, incarceration, the onset of a disease or an infertility diagnosis, and even minor losses, such as a loss of insurance coverage.[6]

Some people deny that the above model holds any water, which proves even more than denial is very common in the world today. Denial is present in just about every large corporation and/or organization in the world, as well as inside of every individual in some form or fashion. Why? 

Everyone has experienced trauma in their life. Trauma is stored in the lizard brain. This ancient part of the brain 'stores' memories of fear/trauma, and then triggers those memories later on in life. This triggering process is known by mental health professionals as PTSD. The lizard brain will keep on storing trauma memories until it 'fills up' to overflowing. Our society has almost no mechanisms for emptying out the trauma that builds up in this computer like memory bank.

Once the lizard brain fills up, the overflow may result in potentially extreme PTSD signs, such as nightmares, severe depression, isolation, self harm, thoughts of suicide/death, etc. If you experience any of these PTSD warning signs, seek out help immediately.

What is normalcy bias? When people or organizations have done things a certain way for a long time, it can be difficult to face the truth and/or change. Habits are difficult to break and dysfunction is 'comfortable' because it is familiar. Change is a threat, because fear of the unknown arises. When things go very wrong, denial often sets in, which means refusing to accept reality. Refusing to change goes along with it, which means a focus on the past, which is seen with rose tinted glasses.

In almost all cases of natural or manmade disaster, neither the people who are in charge, nor the victims believe what is going on. There is a name for this, and it is called the 'normalcy bias'. The above video explores this dynamic in terms of the Costa Concordia ship sinking. There is a strong and 'natural' tendency to disbelieve what is going on even inside of huge disasters. Denial needs to be maintained within this false sense of 'normalcy' for as long as possible. Everyone has a part of themselves that is stuck in denial or normalcy bias. Normalcy bias and denial is a normal, universal part of all societies. Historically, denial of reality can easily be found. Scientists and major religions used to believe that the Earth was flat and that people would fall off the edge, that the Earth was only 2,000 years old, and that the sun revolved around a stationary Earth. Denial and normalcy bias is so common, it is just a matter of how deeply a person is in denial, not IF a person is in denial about a specific subject.

People living in denial and normalcy bias often believe that even if a nuclear or other disaster happened to someone else, it certainly will never happen to me, despite living close to a nuclear facility. The nuclear industry always makes guarantees to local communities where nuclear facilities are, saying that an accident can never happen, because of all of the 'experts' who live locally and all of the safety systems. Most people trust the 'experts' and believe everything they say, no matter what. 

The normalcy bias also results in the inability of people to cope with a huge natural or man made disaster once it does occur, even if they are directly affected by the disaster. 

People with a normalcy bias have difficulties reacting to something they have never experienced before. People also tend to interpret warnings in the most optimistic way possible, seizing on any ambiguities to infer a less serious situation."

DENIAL IS NOT A RIVER IN EGYPT




The eyes and mind can literally only comprehend and understand what our unconscious programming allows. If the mind has been programmed to 'believe only what the leader or mass media says', then the eye will only see and the mind will only register as 'truth' that which matches this unconscious belief system.

This unconscious belief system is expressed in politics, religion, science, every day life, mass media and more. This belief system can also be expressed as the 'Matrix', which is seen by most people as being 'normal' and accepted reality.

A lack of disaster planning and drills also tends to reinforce the 'normalcy bias' because people have no clue how to react to an emergency situation, so they 'freeze' and/or go into shock and denial. America is in especially deep denial, specifically around nuclear energy. Did you know all emergency shelters have been dismantled and evacuation is not required in case of any nuclear accident? 

No emergency planning agency or community organization is planning on a nuclear disaster. Call your local disaster or emergency response organization. Ask them what preparations they have made for a nuclear disaster. They answer will be NONE. No meters, no shelters, no supplies, no training, no education, no information, NOTHING.

Of course, after any nuclear disaster, the pro nuclear corporations and regulatory/emergency response agencies involved seize on this normalcy bias to assure people that they are indeed 'safe' and that no 'immediate harm' will come to them, while denying any meaningful information.

By repeating the 'safe' message often enough, and combining it with the normalcy bias, the result is that most people will never go any further, because there is no visible evidence anything bad is happening.

1)A lady selling sandwiches at a roadside farmer market, used to be a nuclear health physicist who was bummed that her program was shut down. Said they were SO CLOSE to curing inmates of pysch problems with radiation. Highly focused beams to certain regions of the brain? I asked. "no, we were injecting isotopes."

2)An engineer who worked for British Petroleum who said the Macondo well blowout was a minor issue, now solved and deep water drilling was perfectly safe.

3) Boat captain who said the BP spill was not a problem and people were lining up for BP damages payouts they didn't deserve.

4) highly skilled musician who believed the world was not more than 6000 years old and was covered with a protective shell of ice in near orbit.

5) A gentleman who believed Chernobyl was now a wildlife sanctuary where animals thrived better than ever.

6) Long time friend who thought I was Chicken Little for saying Fukushima was a serious event. Ive come to know the "askance look" …it's so predictable.

7) Nice couple, wife from Germany, who thought Obama was a great statesman who was not allowed to do anything right because of the Republicans. The solution was a stronger government, with higher taxes. When I made the mistake of saying corporatism colluding with government is a form of fascism, they came unhinged, yelling at me for my horrendous infraction.

8) a Lawrence Livermore employee got on a no fly list, was routinely threatened at gun point by airport security, who nevertheless thought that the U.S. government and nuclear are A-OK, and incidentally that Jesus would save true believers.

The take away for me is that the problem is that everyone has an unchangeable belief system…and EVERYBODY is wrong about SOMETHING, but they think they are right about everything. DOUBLETHINK DESCRIBED AND EXPLORED

Doublethink is another related part of normalcy bias. Modern civilization is full of doublethink in all directions. But the politically correct sacred cow worshiping mass media that is owned by corporations will not explore this issue. 

KOREAN FERRY SINKING, ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF NORMALCY BIAS


A Korean ferry sank slowly over a period of several hours in March of 2014. The mostly teen passengers were repeatedly told to stay put and in their rooms over the loudspeakers, despite the ship sinking. Most of them complied with the 'instructions' and listened to a seriously deranged 'leader' and 'expert' who was in a state of terminal denial, despite the ship listing and taking on more and more water.

 Those 250 plus people who followed the 'expert' directions and advice drowned, while those 100 plus that disobeyed the 'official news' lived by jumping off the sinking ship and being rescued. The lesson is to not blindly follow the instructions or advice of 'experts' or even officials. The officials and 'experts' are often completely wrong, or have hidden bias, motivations, or an agenda that motivates them, which is more powerful than saving lives of the public.

It is hard enough to get beyond the normalcy bias, even if you can see, smell and hear EVERYTHING that is going on. The above example shows how many people stay in denial in spite of plenty of evidence that things are going horribly wrong. A majority of people on board the ferry ship followed directions and died.

COSTA CONCORDIA - EXAMPLE OF NORMALCY BIAS

Within an hour after hitting a huge granite rock outcropping, the Costa Concordia was listing so severely that the lifeboats could no longer be lowered the way they were designed to.. if they could be lowered at all.

At about this time the captain of the Costa Concordia said he 'accidentally' fell into a lifeboat. The Coast Guard found out he was in a life boat and ordered him to get back on the ship, but he refused, saying people and things 'were in the way'.

After the captain left the boat, many people were left on board the ship with no one in charge. No one was helping anyone else, and it was every person for themselves. 33 people died needlessly. No one told anyone what was really going on or what do to. No one on board the ship that used to be in a position of authority gave any instructions for what to do to save the highest number of lives. (This is pretty much what happens in every nuclear disaster as well.)

No one stayed at the accident site to provide emergency responders with useful information such as how many people were on board. Instead, passengers were told to 'go back to your cabins'. Passengers were told that there was "no problem", despite knowing that the ship was sinking.

During the Costa Concordia disaster, many people on board this doomed ship maintained a state of outright denial, despite the fact that the ship was sinking. Many of the crew believed reports that the ship just had a generator problem, as transmitted by the captain, and they passed on that message to the passengers. This is also what happens in the nuclear industry, as people inside the industry pass on 'messages' that they are taught to say, in order to minimize or deny anything bad happening.

On 3/11 at Fukushima Daichi, the nuclear power plant was melting down within hours and then melting through it's container, but denial was and still is the rule of the day. No one wanted to admit failure. The pro nuclear 'experts' PROMISED and assured everyone that a multiple reactor melt down or melt through could NEVER happen. 

It was only months later that bad news was released that multiple reactors had completely melted down (and out), and then only with pressure from people like Greenpeace, or from news reporting via independent nuclear experts, not associated with or hired by the nuclear industry After all, just like the Titanic, nuclear plants were and still are considered 'unsinkable' by the pro nuclear apologists. In their minds, to this very day, nothing bad happened there, and Fushima is only 10% of Chernobyl, plus no one died, and no one will ever die. Although this is patently absurd and totally fairy tale, many people strongly believe this is the case. 

The normalcy bias also has an effect on the reporting of nuclear accidents. No one wants to deliver bad news, so the bias is to find all kinds of creative ways (using computers, 'models' and statistics) to report that 'no one' died from any nuclear accident.

Just like the Titanic, nuclear plants were and still are considered 'unsinkable' by the pro nuclear apologists. In their minds, to this very day, nothing bad happened there, and Fushima is only 10% of Chernobyl, plus no one died, and no one will ever die.  On the Titanic, just like at all nuclear plants, there were insufficient lifeboats. Nuclear plants have no plans for getting people out of harm's way of fallout clouds coming from melting down nuclear reactors. The current US disaster plan for nuclear plants melting down is to shelter in place in a home. This is roughly the same as telling people in second and third class on the sinking Titanic to go back to their rooms, and close the door, and that will keep you safe. 

Of course, once a nuclear plant melts down in the US, it will be claimed that no one died. It could easily be claimed that no one died as a result of the Titanic sinking either. More to the point, maybe the mass media story about the Titanic sinking was not even true. Maybe it was actually the Olympic that sank. Here is an example of how normalcy bias can be layered on top of other things going on, all at the same time...

If we take the standard nuclear industry claim after every nuclear accident, we could say that when a ship sinks, it was just coincidence that a 'few' people died of drowning and hyperthermia after the ship was underwater, but that had NOTHING to do with the Titanic sinking. Since the two events are separated by time; sinking and deaths by drowning. These deaths cannot be hooked together at all, in the minds of the pro nuclear folks. Never mind that most low level radiation exposure causes cancer and deaths, which do not appear until years later, after the incubation or latency period for cancers and genetic diseases run their course. 

The normalcy bias has a huge effect during any disaster. Everyone assumes that everything is and will stay 'normal', no matter what reality and circumstances are telling them. After a nuclear disaster, because deadly radiation is invisible and nothing appears on the news, everyone believes that the 'normal' situation will continue in the future. Because man made heavy metal poisonous radiation takes it's negative effects slowly and insidiously, it is difficult for most people to believe that the diseases, cancers and birth defects that come down the road have anything to do with the initiating event; a nuclear accident.





































On the Cost Concordia, it was only after the ship had filled up with water, about an hour after colliding with a granite rock that the captain ordered everyone to abandon ship. Up to that point, he assured everyone that the generator had failed, and everything was ok. No one needed to worry about a thing. 

The captain knew, (or should have known) much earlier than that what was happening. The captain could have used all of that time to prepare people to evacuate and tell them what was going on. 

After the ship started listing 20 degrees or more due to massive amounts of water pouring into the ship, it was much too late to urge everyone to abandon ship. Responding to disasters appropriately is rare. The most common response to disasters is to pretend that they are not happening.

Fear of looking bad creates anger.

Anger creates hatred/shame of self.

Hatred/shame creates projection and denial.

If and when something bad happens, the first temptation is to give in to fear of looking bad and to deny anything bad is happening, or to project the fear into blaming anyone/everyone else, including the victims.

If reality does not set in via empathy, compassion and humility, then the cover up grows larger and starts costing lives. A sociopath has no real empathy or compassion, so he or she is perfectly willing to sacrifice MILLIONS of people in order to keep up the appearance of not causing any of them.

GOVERNMENT DID NOT HAND OUT KI PILLS DESPITE HAVING THEM AFTER THE FUKUSHIMA MEGA NUCLEAR DISASTER; PRETENDED IT DID NOT HAPPEN FOR THREE MONTHS

For three months, the government, nuclear industry and regulators pretended that the multiple Fukushima reactors and spent fuel pools did not catch on fire, melt down and then melt out. They are still pretending that nothing happened, because the consequences of telling the truth to themselves and to the world are too terrible to deal with. Of course, the truth would mean the end of the nuclear industry as well, and that is not allowed in the world of the 1%, who must make profits on nuclear, no matter what.

The nuclear plant operating companies say that they are preventing information from getting out during a disaster, in order to prevent a 'panic'. This also takes the form of not reporting that an accident happened at all, despite a ship sinking or a nuclear plant melting down completely. Few people have heard of the Empress Of Ireland, which actually lost more people than the Titanic did.

NUCLEAR DISASTERS - DENIALS, LIES, COVER UP AND NORMALCY BIAS IS THE RULE, NOT THE EXCEPTION

With EVERY nuclear disaster, the same thing happens that occurs on large ships such as the Titanic and the Costa Concordia. The nuclear plant operators at first cannot believe what they are seeing or experiencing. Then they try to 'fix' the problem, despite it being much too late, but without disclosing to anyone what is going on. Then they try to cover up the problem, so that it does not make them look like failures, and to protect the nuclear industry in general. They must protect their reputations, because after all, they promised the world and their local community that this could never happen. Because deadly radiation is invisible, it is much easier to deny, lie, and hide the truth than to actually admit to what happened. Who cares about the truth these days after all? No one can prove what happened, because there are no meters, no one is measuring it, and everything is invisible. 

No information is typically released about any nuclear incident or accident until well after the worst has already happened. During all nuclear accidents historically, millions of people were exposed to high doses of radiation before any warnings or evacuation orders were given. It took TEPCO three months to admit at least three reactors melted down, even though they knew within several hours on 3/11 that it was a foregone conclusion.

The normalcy bias is still the rule of the day around Fukushima and Tokyo for example. Especially because dangerous amounts of radiation are all INVISIBLE, it is easy to pretend everything is normal and to pretend that everyone is safe. 

Truth and facts are the casualties of a short sighted focus on profit at any cost. Children, grandparents, pregnant women are all sacrificed on the alter of nuclear power, status, money and profits, just to keep the nuclear industry alive for another day. 

HARMFUL RADIATION IN FOOD AND DRINKS IS DENIED AND COVERED UP



Unless citizens have sensitive pancake style Geiger Counters to verify or dispute what is being claimed by the nuclear industry, no one really knows what is going on, because government and nuclear regulatory authorities are actually helping industry cover up what is going on.

IAEA IS MARKETING AND SALES ARM OF NUCLEAR INDUSTRY


Most people believe that the nuclear industry is 'regulated' by the IAEA, which pretends to do this job. However, the IAEA is actually a marketing arm of the pro nuclear sales industry, NOT an impartial regulator or inspector. There are no nuclear industry police arresting people, giving out tickets or fines, like after a traffic accident where someone is found at fault, such as drinking and driving. 

The nuclear industry has almost completely made itself immune to arrests, tickets, lawsuits and financial losses, by shifting the entire burden of all of this to taxpayers. Of course, they get to keep all of the profits and taxpayer provided corporate welfare entitlements. 

When a large nuclear disaster (such as Fukushima) happens, denial and the historical secrecy of the whole industry is combined with the normalcy bias, creating chaos, confusion and active cover ups by the pro nuclear scientists, IAEA marketing agency and even government announcements. The excuse that is used of not giving accurate information and 'real' radiation readings or warnings is that authorities are trying to prevent a 'panic'. Thus people are told to shelter in place, or not worry, because radiation cannot hurt them. 

Since no one can tell the difference because all radiation is completely invisible, deadly plumes of radiation can come through a town, and no one knows the difference, because everything still looks, feels, smells and sounds 'normal. None of the physical senses warn anyone when a deadly dangerous radiation plume is coming through town. 

MAJOR COVER UPS THE NORM, NOT THE EXCEPTION, FOR NUCLEAR DISASTERS


But what typically happens is that when the real situation is covered up and then at the last moment people DO discover what is going on, then a REAL PANIC sets in, fueled by confusion and chaos, plus lack of preparation, organization and structure. As a result, many more lives are lost and many more injuries result. Longer term as well, many more lives are lost and many more people are injured when a disaster is covered up, such as TMI, Chernobyl, and Fukushima for example.

Emergency radiation shelters have all been dismantled and supplies gotten rid of in the US and most other countries with nuclear power. Even the evacuation rules in case of nuclear accidents have been tossed out or diluted to the point of non existence. This would be the equivalent of getting rid of all life rafts on a large cruise ship. No one is objecting, because we all know that this ship is unsinkable, right? As a result, emergency volunteer teams and responders in the US have no radiation monitors, no radiation training, no Geiger counters, and no supplies. There are no radiation shelters, and no more evacuation plans, all due to nuclear industry pressure.

Fukushima, TMI, Chernobyl and other nuclear disasters were and still are no exception to the rule of 100% deception, cover up, denial, normalcy bias and active conspiracy during and after a any nuclear disaster. These 'accidents' serve as examples of how large monopolistic organizations prevent useful, life saving information from getting out to the public.

A nuclear disaster is different from car, ship and plane disasters. With ships and planes, accident analysis and safety reviews are done by effective, neutral regulators who serve as EFFECTIVE watchdogs. The news of a plane crash often gets out to the whole world before it even happens. The whole world can watch a plane crashing at an airport, or a World Trade Center attack.

After a plane crash or major freeway car crash, airline and/or vehicle regulators and safety agencies dig deep and find out the root causes of the disaster, creating minute by minute animations of EXACTLY what happened, why, and when things went wrong. Then the lessons learned are applied to the industry, whether it is cars, planes, ships or highways for example. The regulators step in and take over an accident scene, and they treat it as a crime scene until proven otherwise. Lawyers get involved and assign blame, along with financial costs and consequences.

NONE OF THIS HAPPENS AFTER A NUCLEAR ACCIDENT.

With the nuclear industry, there are no neutral inspectors or government regulators. The supposed regulators such as the IAEA and NRC are actually MARKETERS and PROMOTERS of nuclear energy, rather than independent, neutral third parties whose first and foremost mission is to protect public health.

CORRUPTED NUCLEAR REGULATORS DENY AND COVER UP THE TRUTH


This very basic conflict of interest prevents them from doing an accurate post mortem of any nuclear accident. No accurate analysis is done. No safety reviews are accomplished. No accurate measurements of anything are performed. Legal actions and monetary compensation for damages normally forces companies to pay attention to safety, or they go out of business due to legal liabilities and losses, compared to companies that operate safely and efficiently.

Lawyers, regulators and safety agencies should have a rather large influence on the future design, maintenance, operation and building of future versions of whatever was involved in an accident that caused human loss of life, illness or suffering.

The problem is that there are a couple of industries that also happen to be monopolies, who don't follow the above 'normal' safety improvement processes, or if they do, they respond only slowly and with a lot of outside pressure from consumer groups. People who are warning the public about the dangers of radiation are not fear mongers. The dangers of even low dose radiation are real, and the wolves are basically the whole nuclear industry. The pro nuclear wolves are attacking the sheep, which is the public. The problem is that the public still believes the wolves, which are often dressed in sheep's clothing.

The pro nuclear wolves are pretending to be a sheep, while at the same time, they are eating the sheep and injuring them at night, under the cover of darkness, secrecy and denial. The wolves have gotten themselves into positions of power, influence and are tapping into the public tax money to finance their invisible, man made radiation fueled rampage.

What is worse, is that the colleges, regulators and experts who are supposed to protect the public from these 'wolves', have actually gone over to their side, and are now part of the wolf pack.

SUMMARY


One take away for everyone is to personally be aware that the normalcy bias exists inside everyone as a normal part of 'self'. Rather than resisting this unconscious part of ourselves, it is healthier to acknowledge it, accept it and embrace it as the unconscious and healthy desire to 'fit in', to be 'normal' and 'accepted' by neighbors, friends, society and our trusted leaders.

Love the darkness and embrace it, rather than suppress, resist or push it away. One way to do this is to seek out counseling and then dive into the darkness in order to understand it better, and love that part of oneself, rather than fear it, and the project that fear onto 'others'. 

Just remember, that truth may not be what it appears on the shallow reality surface layer in any society, religion, education, or political system. Dig deeper and question everyone and everything. It is up to each person to question everything a leader, neighbor, society, school, college, or expert says, and see if it is really true for ourselves. 

The truth and light may very well be on a path less traveled that leads into the forest of the heart and consciousness, where there is no formal, established path or easy freeway. The journey to explore and then find the ultimate truth may be very lonely indeed, with very few or no companions, but it is an adventure well worth pursuing. 

Regarding natural or man made disasters, the lesson of ship sinkings and nuclear disasters above point to the need for prudent preparation for a disaster. It is prudent and common sense to have life boats on ships. It is prudent to do disaster preparation drills in all areas, organizations and society at large. It is prudent to have nuclear fallout shelters. It is prudent to have a stock of food and water plus other supplies on hand for a natural or man made disaster. It is prudent to follow one's own sense of what needs to be done in the moment, rather than rely on 'experts' or leaders to tell one what to do at all times. 

It is prudent to prepare for worst case at all times, but to also work on creating best case sustainability realities, by asking; what works for seven future generations without causing harm? If everyone does their best in this way, the future of humanity is going to have a much better outcome, than if everyone focuses only on short term profits, no matter what the cost to society, communities, humanity and the environment, wouldn't you agree?

Once a disaster happens, it is possible to cope with it in the most healthy way possible, by asking the question, what is the most common sense and prudent response, no matter what the 'experts' or mass media is saying? Trust your own inner voice and/or intuition, rather than what a leader is saying and then blindly following that, no matter what. Don't be one of the death statistics, if you don't have to be. Those who lived through those ship sinkings above did not follow the 'leaders' advice. 

Your course of action one takes may be very different from what the mass media suggests, and it may be contrary to what the leader suggests for everyone.  Ultimately, everyone has their own inner guide, teacher, warrior, hero and leader inside of themselves. Access to this part of ourselves is always available. 


You are the savior you have been looking for. You are the leader that everyone is searching for. You are the hero. Access that part of you and follow where this leads. Trust in yourself, and your own inner guidance system, rather than any outer authority or expert. If it does not feel 'right', trust and follow that, even if logically there is no confirmation for what you are feeling yet. Search for the missing pieces, and follow your heart. Sometimes there is no clear answer and surrendering to the divine mystery is the best a person can do.

If all of society shuts down due to fear, then what? If all factories, churches, grocery stores, hospitals, clinics and delivery drivers, plus postal services shut down for months to years due to fear of a pandemic germ, then what? The people and drivers helping people get medical supplies or driving people to the hospital are on the 'front line' of the pandemic. They are exposing themselves daily to the Coronavirus, as long as they do their jobs. It takes a certain kind of bravery to do that, day after day. 

Shutting down all of society is like trying to suppress a volcano. The virus and the volcano are going to do what they do, no matter what our response to them is. So we can respond with fear and panic, or we can respond in another way..
