Do they claim to follow Christ at all? Christ never killed anyone, nor did he give permission for any of his followers to kill anyone on his behalf. He said to the people ready to stone the woman at the well; "Let the first one without any sin cast the first stone". They all dropped their rocks and walked away. In other words, everyone deserves the death penalty, and there is no exception.

It is quite ironic that the 'law and order' party and the party of the 'moral majority' is the most corrupt in history, breaks the most laws, steals and rigs elections, while denying justice and the rule of law for holding the most corrupted, treasonous President ever, who has souled out to numerous foreign nations for PROFIT.

But when it comes to punishing others with extreme cruelty and barbarity, while letting themselves off the hook with get out of jail free cards,  Neoconservatives and Neoliberals are all in. 



AG Barr orders reinstatement of the federal death penalty

Attorney General William Barr directed the Justice Department on Thursday to adopt a new rule for carrying out the death penalty, which would restore executions in the federal system for the first time in 16 years.

“We owe it to the victims and their families to carry forward the sentence imposed by our justice system,” Barr said.

In response to the order, the Bureau of Prisons set execution dates for five men on federal death row who have exhausted their legal appeals, all of whom were convicted of murdering children in especially violent crimes. Four of the five also killed adult victims. Their executions are to be carried out in December and January.

SAUDI ARABIA TO BEHEAD 14 FOR PARTICIPATING IN ANTI-GOVERNMENT PROTESTS

Saudi Arabia, the Gulf kingdom ruled by an absolute monarchy and key United States ally, is planning to behead 14 men for participating in anti-government protests after what Amnesty International called a “grossly unfair mass trial.”

“By confirming these sentences Saudi Arabia’s authorities have displayed their ruthless commitment to the use of the death penalty as a weapon to crush dissent and neutralize political opponents,” Samah Hadid of Amnesty International said.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia decided to uphold the sentences, and the 14 men were transferred to Riyadh, indicating that the beheadings could occur anytime.

Eleventh-hour reprieves are not uncommon in the Islamic Republic, but in recent months coverage of such close calls has spiked, prompting local journalists to dub it a “tsunami of pardons”.

In March and April five murderers were saved from an imminent hanging in the ancient eastern town of Neyshabur alone. In May, a young woman who had killed her mother-in-law was spared by the victim’s family, as she had the noose around her neck. On June 9th another five were saved in Karaj prison, a notorious facility just north of Tehran.

The Islamic Republic puts more people to death than anywhere in the world bar China, and the reformist-backed administration of President Hassan Rohani has been sharply criticised for presiding over an increase of executions, which number 325 so far this year. Doomed men and women escape death in Iran through a mixture of compassion and cash. Families of their victims can pardon them, sometimes accepting “blood money” payments in return for doing so. Local media has run stories of public campaigns to raise the sums needed.

Legal Chaos in Arkansas as Judges Halted State Plan to Carry Out Unprecedented Spate of Executions



http://democracynow.org - Arkansas’s plan to carry out an unprecedented series of executions has been thrown into chaos, after judges ruled to temporarily halt the state’s plan. Hundreds of death penalty opponents rallied at the State Capitol in Little Rock on Friday, as state Judge Wendell Griffen issued a temporary stay of the executions over concerns the state used false pretenses to obtain the drug vecuronium bromide, which is one of a cocktail of drugs slated to be used in the executions.

The following day, federal Judge Kristine Baker also temporarily blocked the state’s execution plans from proceeding over concerns about another one of the execution drugs: the sedative midazolam. Arkansas is appealing the rulings.

SUMMARY


The logic is that killing people somehow justifies killing people. If murdering someone with the intent to kill them justifies the death penalty, how is murdering the person who did the first murder any different? 

Does killing people to teach other people that killing people is bad, really make sense anymore?

Haven't we evolved past that Old Testament killing people by stoning them and/or burning them, for oh so many 'sin's'?

How many of those people executed are actually innocent?

Anyone who pays taxes, (which pays for bombing or droning innocent civilians overseas) or is in favor of the death penalty has blood on their hands, because both of these things end up murdering innocent people.

Everyone deserves the death penalty if it comes right down to it.

In summary, the capital punishment  method of execution is either for everyone, or no one at all.



Richard Lopez Barr should take care that he doesn't become our modern day Haman, who builds a scaffold and is himself and his peers hung instead of his intended victims. Under our Constitution death is still the prescribed penalty for treason.

While it’s personally very painful for me to do this, the credit for this now-trending tag goes to Joe Scarborough. On Morning Joe Friday morning, he railed against McConnell’s blockade of legislation to secure the 2020 election from foreign interference—namely, Russian interference.
