Graham uses U.S. soccer player Jaelene Hinkle as an example.

Through a post on Facebook, Christian evangelist Franklin Graham has said it is not homophobic to stand against gay people.

His post reads: “Ashlyn Harris of the U.S. Soccer Women’s National Team was recently in the news for accusing former teammate Jaelene Hinkle of homophobia. Why? Because Jaelene took a stand for her faith.”

Graham explains, “In 2017, Jaelene refused to play two matches for the U.S. Women’s National Team, reportedly because she wouldn’t wear the team’s gay pride-themed jersey. Jaelene has said, “This world may change, but Christ and His Word NEVER will.” She’s right—and standing with that truth takes courage. Ashlyn Harris needs to understand that believing the Word of God doesn’t mean that you’re homophobic. It means you’re truthful.”

Christ never said a negative word against any gays. Christ preached forgiveness, unconditional love and taking in refugees, protecting the minorities. 

Any Christian who claims to follow Christ cannot both attack gays and still be a 'Christian'.

An Orthodox bishop has made the startling claim that if a pregnant woman has anal sex, the baby will be gay.

The Most Reverend Metropolitan Neophytos (Masouras) of Morfou of the Church of Cyprus has posted a video to YouTube that surpasses “ridiculous” and heads straight into “batshit crazy” territory quickly.

A lack of spirituality creates gay people, the bishop says, and it’s the parents’ fault for passing on “the sickness of homosexuality.”

And if a pregnant woman has “abnormal sexual contact,” like anal sex, “a desire is created, which is then transmitted to the unborn child.”

The Supreme Court legalized gay marriage as of June 2015. 
On April 28, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments as they prepared to decide whether the U.S. Constitution allows for states to discriminate against same-sex couples by denying them the right to marry or refusing to recognize their marriages performed in jurisdictions where they are legal. www.HRC.org/SCOTUS

Seeing how Republicans are looking for a cause that will bring more voters into their fold, this may be a watershed moment. The political party that opposed gay rights or anything to do with gay marriage may now do a turnaround and adopt this cause as it's own.

Some states still allow signs; NO GAYS ALLOWED! Outright discrimination still legal and allowed

A Tennessee store owner put a sign infant of his shop that read “No Gays Allowed.” This is still legal in the state for him to refuse service to those in the LGBT community. John Iadarola and Ana Kasparian (The Point) hosts of The Young Turks discuss.

"After the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states, a hardware store in Grainger County, Tennessee, put up a sign with a terrible message: "No gays allowed." And while this might seem abhorrent to most people, it turns out that it's totally legal.

Jeff Amyx, a baptist minister who owns Amyx Hardware & Roofing Supplies, told WBIR 10 News that he put up the sign because he's religiously opposed to gay and lesbian couples, and that he has no intent of taking the sign down.

The storeowner's actions invoke memories of similar signs that were used in the South prior to the Civil Rights Movement to enforce segregation, which is now illegal under federal law. But unlike discrimination against black people and other racial minorities, this type of discrimination against gay and lesbian people is totally legal — not just in Tennessee, but most other states in the US."
