STUDY FINDS THAT WITHIN 3 YEARS AFTER FUKUSHIMA, ALMOST 50 PERCENT OF JAPANESE CHILDREN TESTED HAD THYROID CYSTS, NODULES OR THYROID CANCERS


JCEM; Findings of thyroid ultrasound examination within three years after the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant accident: The Fukushima Health Management Survey
Thyroid cysts, nodules, and cytologically suspected cancers were detected in 68,009, 1,415, and 38 subjects in males and 73,014, 2455, and 74 subjects in females, respectively. There was an age-dependent increase in the detection rate of thyroid nodules and cancer, but that of cysts reached a peak at 11–12 years. Sex affected the prevalence of thyroid nodules and cancers after the onset of puberty, but only a small difference was exhibited in that of cysts.

A total of 294,905 residents were tested. Mathematically, that means close to 50% of those tested ended up with thyroid issues that lead to cancer.

The few studies done around Fukushima after the cities there DEMANDED that they be done, show that a large percentage of children have 'nodules' or 'cysts' on their thyroids. These helpless and innocent Japanese children are living in high radiation zones, just like the children around Chernobyl and the children living around nuclear plants in the USA.

Some children in Japan have so many cysts on their thyroids, it is impossible to count them all. Guess what, cysts appeared AFTER the Fukushima accident, just like they did after Chernobyl. Within five years, thyroid cancers appeared, and many thousands of children have thyroid necklaces, (surgery scars from having cancerous thyroids removed)






MANY MEDICAL DOCTORS DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT LOW LEVEL RADIATION OR THE HARM THAT IT DOES VIA INTERNAL LOW LEVEL RADIATION CONTAMINATION AND HEAVY METAL POISONING


If you ask the average doctor what causes thyroid problems, he does not mention radiation... Is this strange or is it normal in the medical community? Sadly, 99% of medical doctors and other mainstream health professionals are NOT trained in the dangers of low dose radiation.

Doctors are not taught how low dose radiation can cause thyroid cancer, between 4-40 years later, so they will not talk about it. This medical doctor admits that many years ago, around 40% of the population had thyroid problems. The numbers back then were 'astronomical'. Things have gotten MUCH WORSE since then. The question is WHY?

IN 2011, OVER 100 MILLION THYROID PRESCRIPTIONS WERE WRITTEN


Would you believe that in the USA in 2007, there were 54.6 MILLION thyroid medication prescriptions? But the amazing thing is that in 2011, that INCREASED RADICALLY to almost 105 MILLION prescriptions for the same medication. Having thyroid medication prescribed is NOT a one time thing.. When a person starts on thyroid medication, it is usually for LIFE, not a temporary thing. So when we look at these prescriptions, it is a permanent, for the rest of your life kind of thing.

Going backwards in time, the amount of thyroid medication prescribed went down to close to ZERO, but that was well before the start of nuclear bomb tests. Any way we look at this, thyroid problems are taking the form of a catastrophic dis-ease crisis, but it is not talked about for many reasons, and the radical increase in thyroid disease or cancer is either 'not understood', covered up or denied.

What is the reason for the steady rise in this prescription drug use for thyroids, from close to ZERO % of the population, to close to 50% of the population in the USA now?

Have any studies been done around this? It turns out, that yes, there have been some studies, and the results are fairly common sense and obvious, but ONLY if one looks at them with an open mind.


NUMBER OF PRESCRIPTIONS IN STATISTICS TABLES VARY BY 100% - HOW IS THAT SCIENTIFIC???


Depending on which statistical table one references (illustrated below), the amount of medication taken for thyroid maladies varies by almost 100%. How can a drug statistical analysis for the same drug vary by that MUCH? We could understand a variation of 1%, possibly even 5%, but close to 100% difference? Maybe we would be better off to believe that BOTH statistics are right..

Quite possibly, the lower levels in 2007 are correct, as are the higher levels in 2011. The only thing left to explore is where the RADICAL increase in thyroid drug use is coming from. And that is where things get very interesting, because the medical community that is prescribing these drugs, NEVER seems to talk about, look at or discover how low dose radiation is related to thyroid problems and low energy. But then they seem to want BILLIONS of Dollars per year to continue to 'study' the problem.

Even more odd is the lack of ANY research by the medical establishment and universities that receive funding or financial support from the nuclear industry (which is almost all of them). In their view, low level radiation studies and harm caused to human health cannot be done, as that would violate a taboo of some kind. Why would they believe this?

HORMESIS THEORY IS ALIVE AND WELL IN MEDICAL AND NUCLEAR INDUSTRY


To understand why medical doctors are taught that low dose radiation is HEALTHY and good for you.....

Much, if not most of the medical industry and the nuclear industry together believe that low dose radiation cannot cause ANY health problems. This very passionate and non scientific belief system is called Hormesis. These 'experts' believe in the theory of Hormesis with a passion bordering on a cult religion. This cult believes that that low level radiation can cause NO harm, not ever, no matter what scientific studies say, such as the one pointed to by people like Dr. Helen Caldicott, or other experts such as Dr. Sternglass below.

There are actually many studies that show what may be causing all of this thyroid disease, thyroid cancers and death. It turns out that low dose radiation may actually be at least one of the culprits behind this catastrophic rise in the prescription of thyroid and other medications.

Radioactive iodine may very well be one of the prime culprits behind all kinds of thyroid issues, so it may be helpful to learn more about radioactive iodine and how it affects the thyroid, and why low energy or chronic fatigue is THE MOST COMMON sign of exposure to low dose radiation. Yet, those who believe in Hormesis think that administering radioactive Iodine is a treatment and/or a 'cure' for thyroid cancer. They go on to admit if asked, that the 'cure' can cause further cancers down the road...

EVIDENCE AND STUDIES SHOW LOW DOSE RADIATION IS CUMULATIVE AND CAUSES CANCERS AND HEALTH ISSUES DOWN THE ROAD


According to the American Thyroid Association, thyroid cancer is known to be much more common in those who have been exposed to radiation, especially high doses of radiation. Those who were exposed to high doses of radiation when they were young are more at risk of developing thyroid cancer later on in life. Xrays used to be used as a 'treatment' much more than today, for things like acne, adenoids and more.

Whenever X-ray treatment or exposure has included the head or neck area, for things such as Hodgkin's Disease, or breast cancer, studies have shown an increased risk of cancer of the thyroid to be a much more common consequence down the road.



NOT ONE CITIZEN IN JAPAN OR IN THE USA WAS WARNED OR TOLD TO TAKE PROTECTIVE KI TABLETS AFTER 3/11 - WHY NOT?


Sadly, not one citizen was given iodine preventatively by the Japanese government after Fukushima happened. Only one town decided to take Iodine on their own in direct opposition to medical authority advice. Now, two years after 3/11, scanty reports are coming out that thyroid cancer rates are skyrocketing in Fukushima province, despite a medical censorship of statistics in this area. This same thing happens after every nuclear accident. No one is warned, no one is given iodine tablets.

Decide for yourself after you dive into this issue and look at the evidence for yourself. Or, you can continue to blindly believe people who have a profit motive, and who will continue to write you prescriptions, while 'studying' the problem, while NEVER actually coming up with any solutions, other than 'more drugs' and expensive treatments, that do NOTHING to address the root causes of the problem.

COULD THERE BE ANSWERS TO CANCER, BUT THEY ARE BEING SUPPRESSED?

The proof of the harm from low dose radiation comes from many countries, and many examples. Chernobyl happened over 30 years ago, so there is lots of history that can be looked at. Not surprisingly, the children exposed to low level radiation around Chernobyl have HIGH rates of thyroid problems, and thyroid cancer.

NORMAL OPERATIONS OF NUCLEAR PLANTS CAUSE RISE IN CANCERS, DEFORMITIES AND OTHER HEALTH ISSUES


Could it be that the normal operation of nuclear power plants could cause millions of children to be exposed to low level radiation, which then results in health problems, including thyroid diseases? Hmmm, studies done around nuclear power plants in Fukushima, Europe and the USA all seem to indicate that this seems to be the case.




STUDY SHOWS PLUTONIUM CAUSES THYROID CANCER


Maybe what they are basing their case on is the following study in which plutonium was found to cause thyroid cancer;

Human thyroid carcinomas have been induced following exposure of SV40-immortalized human thyroid epithelial cells in vitro to single doses (0.14 Gy to 1.57 Gy) of 3.26 MeV alpha-particles from a plutonium 238 source. 

SUMMARY

What is the takeway from this? If you live near a nuclear accident, a normally operating nuclear reactor or facility, or an open air nuclear test site, do not be surprised if you find much higher numbers of children with health problems of all kinds, as well as higher numbers of birth problems. If you want to ensure the best chance of health for your children and family, move at least 200 miles away from any nuclear accident site, stay at least 100 miles upwind and/or away from any nuclear reactor, or other nuclear facility. And do not believe anyone who says nuclear power is safe.

The American Thyroid Association states that "thyroid cancer can also be caused by radioactive iodine released during nuclear disasters such as the 1986 accident at the Chernobyl power plant in Russia or the 2011 nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan related to the tsunami. Children are usually the most affected and often develop cancers within a few years of exposure. However, even adults exposed during these accidents develop thyroid cancer with increased frequency, sometimes as many as 40 years later.

You can be protected from developing thyroid cancer in the event of a nuclear disaster by taking potassium iodide (see Nuclear Radiation and the Thyroid brochure). This prevents the absorption of radioactive iodine and has been demonstrated to reduce the risk of thyroid cancer. The American Thyroid Association recommends that anyone living within 200 miles of a nuclear accident be given potassium iodide.
