Comparing external and internal irradiation: the ICRP/ ICRU bag of water model. In case A, external radiation (X-rays or gamma rays) there are 20 events uniformly spaced throughout the tissue and the “absorbed dose” (see text) at any microscopic point is evenly distributed. In case B, for internal irradiation (here from a radioactive particle) there is a very large transfer of energy to a small tissue volume and the concept of “absorbed dose” does not apply.

Bottom line, the ICPR model ignores hot particles completely. The ICRP model also COMPLETELY ignores the effect of ingested or inhaled radiation, and it's effect over a longer period of time.

ICRP IS A QUACK HORMESIS THEORY PROMOTING ORGANIZATION


The ICRP is a pro nuclear organization made up of theoretical nuclear scientists (that have no medical or health training). The ICRP promotes the 'safety' of radiation, via official reports to governments, such as the report they created and gave to TEPCO and the Japanese government, after the 3/11 Fukushima mega nuclear disaster. ICRP is the organization that reported residents could be exposed to between 20 and 100 m/Sv per year, when the previous maximum was 1 m/Sv per year. They make the outrageous and false claim that no one will experience any negative health consequences from this amount of radiation. This 'official' report was then used by the Japanese government to move people back into the highly radiation contaminated areas close to the Fukushima nuclear disaster site, an area which is contaminated with more radiation than the Chernobyl exclusion zones, where no one is allowed to live, generations after that nuclear disaster. 

Of course, the easiest solution is to pretend that decontamination is possible and successful, and then move people back into these areas and then on top of that, pretend that all radiation is good for you, via the hormesis theory. Anyone complaining about radiation caused diseases, cancers or deaths is labeled as being Radiophobic.  In Japan, that is exactly what they are doing.

How does the ICRP and IAEA recommendation of much higher levels of radiation being safe to live in and ok to eat or drink, square with other organizations who are made up primarily of medical doctors, who are recommending that the current 1 m/Sv maximum dose be dropped to .02 m/Sv per year, because the 1 m/Sv dose has been found to be too high and cause too much harm to health and genes from radiation? 

Medical doctors who are experts in low dose radiation have an entirely different view from the IAEA, ICRP and WHO. The medical doctors view is that allowing people to be exposed to this increased dose of radiation is the same as committing murder or genocide, and that the people recommending this should be treated as criminals.

ICRP AND OTHER 'REGULATORS' ARE OK WITH 250 m/Sv EXPOSURE


Never mind that before this nuclear accident, the maximum radiation dose allowed for civilians was just 1 m/Sv per year globally. Why was 1 m/Sv the maximum radiation dose allowed for civilians before the accident, but now 100 times that is ok, especially when the maximum radiation allowed for a healthy adult male nuclear worker, exposed to radiation at work 8 hours a day, is not supposed to go over 20 m/Sv per year?

Starting with a premise that all radiation is good for you, and can cause no harm, it is easy to see how these organizations can claim that no one died, no one will die and no one will get cancer from any nuclear accident. Not only does this make the nuclear industry 'look good', but it also protects them from lawsuits and financial claims. Courts take these nuclear 'experts' claims as God's truth, and toss claims of harm by civilians out of court, as happened after TMI. 

The few medical researchers and independent scientists studying the actual victims of these nuclear disasters and not just blind computer models and projections, come up with quite different numbers and risk models, as they look at the increased death, disease and cancer rates around nuclear accident zones. They come up with studies and  conclusions using ACTUAL numbers, not computer generated estimates. Isn't that how science is supposed to work?

On 12/28/2011, NHK reported ICRP’s [International Commission on Radiological Protection] manipulation and 'fake' scientific data in the late 1980's. In this TV news show, NHK reported that ICRP manipulated the actual nuclear radiation safety data for purely political reasons, in order to make nuclear power look 'safe'. The ICRP standard is known as a false or fake “science”, which the experts make up in order to make nuclear power appear to be safe. In reality, cancer rates go up even if the exposure is only 10 m/Sv per year, which is ten times the maximum a civilian is supposed to be exposed to.

Wouldn't you agree that at the very least, that this cozy financial relationship which also exists with the IAEA would create a bias, and at the very worst, would create a report that is in favor of the company making the payments, with a goal of getting a certain result, while ignoring the actual data or harm caused?

How can the corrupted and industry captive IAEA and ICRP organizations set the 'rules' for radiation exposure and safety, when in effect they are the sales and marketing organizations for the nuclear industry?

Here is just one example of many examples of how wrong the ICRP is with their claims of no harm from low dose radiation from nuclear accidents....  After Chernobyl, the cancer rate in Sweden has gone up, way beyond the estimation of ICRP prediction. In one area of Sweden, where low dose radiation has affected residents due to Chernobyl, the cancer rate is increasing. The annual radiation dose is only 0.2 mSv, which is 1/5 of the minimum ICRP standard that can cause any cancers or diseases, according to them. This is not the only example of harm caused by nuclear power plant accidents. There are many, many more, but they are being suppressed and denied by this small group of pro nuclear scientists, and the mass media, which is owned by huge corporations who like to keep this kind of news off the air, because it hurts the advertising revenue that comes from these organizations, if it is aired.

- In 1952, when President Eisenhower launched the ‘Atoms for Peace’ programme, it was intended to convince the world of the benefits of nuclear energy. 

- The ICRP, which was set up during this same period, was responsible for working in this area to establish safety standards for radiological protection. This led to the adoption of three basic principles: justification (the usefulness of a practice resulting in exposure, optimisation (ALARA, As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and limitation). Limitation involves adopting safety ­limits in line with “acceptable” risk. 

- Having remained silent during the era of atmospheric nuclear testing, the ICRP has, over time, lowered the safety limits but continues to use a gross approximation for judging the risks from internal contamination. 

- The successive adjustments to the norms, prompted by observed data, have always been adopted reluctantly and long after the scientific validation of the observations. 

- The latest publication (2007) by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) takes no account of the work that has been carried out in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus since Chernobyl. The discrepancy between the norms that are in force and the risks that can be observed has increased dangerously, as is clearly and thoroughly demonstrated by the European Committee on Radiation Risk (ECRR).

The contributors are several dozen eminently qualified individuals on the subject of the effects of radiation on biological organisms. The ICRP model is based on reductionist physics-based arguments, which is presently used to set legislation on exposure limits and argue that low-level radiation is safe. The carcinogenic, teratogenic and mutagenic effects of this wretched technology will never be obscured. Not even a half-wit soccer coach nuclear physicist will change the course of reality with a pile of falsehoods designed to protect his job.

I’ve been a longtime critic of the ICRP, NRPB, UNSCEAR, BEIR, NCRP. The adoption of radiation models which are intended to support highest levels of radiation exposure to humans at the lowest corporate cost, is unconscionable.

The blatant cronyism that is characteristic of nuclear apologists should make everyone embarrassed to be human beings.

These models not only are pathetically, and intentionally, not equipped to account for the effects of exposure to low level radiation, they generally consider only effects resulting in fatal cancers, heritable damage, and IQ retardation.

Moronic subtleties should never be overlooked. We have epidemiological studies which have irrefutably produced and scientifically demonstrated evidence of a wide range of health effects other than cancer from radiation.

Humans have 2 generally recognized cell lines, germ and somatic cells. The effects of all levels of radiation affect these cell lines and their intended purpose in predictable chronic or fatal manners."

ICRP MINIMIZES HEALTH CONSEQUENCES


Via Wyakin July 10, 2014 "To put the ongoing genocide for profit in perspective, consider the following: ICRP has estimated that thru 2000 there has been 1,173,600 fatal cancers and 2,350,000 induced cancers.

In contrast, the European Commission on Radiation Risk has estimated 61,619,512 fatal cancers, and 123,239,024 induced cancers. The clandestine alliance between regulators and propagators has introduced malfeasant science into the scam of radiation protection.

Who do you believe? The lying corporate liars who are willing to sacrifice us all, including the most genetically vulnerable, women and children, or the ECRR and others who can scientifically prove the nuclear industry and government cronies are always understating the quantity and amount of nuclear trash being spread by the global nuclear industrial and military complex?"

ICRP CANCER RISK MODEL DOES NOT WORK AT ALL


Via Jebus July 24, 2014  Stuck in Second Low Internal Dose Cancer Risk
The problem, according to independent researchers, is that the ICRP risk model underestimates the cancer risk from certain low dose internal emitters like Tritium, Strontium-90, and Uranium sometimes by a factor 100 or more. The ICRP risk model underestimates the biological effects of Strontium-90 because it does not recognize the high affinity for DNA or its knock-out punch delivered by the subsequent decay of Yttrium-90 while the same cell is in the repair stage. Damaged DNA elevates the cancer risk and the risk of passing genetic defects to offspring. Natural radioactive Potassium-40 in bananas does far less damage to cells and has never been found to be carcinogenic like Strontium-90.

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT MOVING CITIZENS BACK INTO HIGHLY RADIATION CONTAMINATED AREAS


The Japanese government is going so far as to move people back into highly radiation contaminated zones, while claiming it is safe. They are backed up by the pro nuclear scientists and medical professionals who believe that hormesis is a good thing.. They believe that the more radiation one is exposed to, the more healthy people become.

What is happening around nuclear facilities is criminal. What is happening around nuclear accident sites with people living in highly radiation contaminated areas is criminal. Why aren't people going to jail? Why aren't these hormesis promoting hucksters going to jail? The reason is because not enough people know about what you now know and understand. Educate the people around you. Educate your legislator, and that will make a difference. 

THE CLOSED CULT LIKE GROUPS: IAEA, ICRP, UNSCEAR, WHO

Bottom line, the various agencies and groups that promote nuclear power such as the IAEA, WHO, UNSCEAR and ICRP all have the same membership; a small group of several hundred pro nuclear scientists. Their goals all seem to be about protecting the nuclear industry, at any cost, no matter what they have to do or say, or event turn a blind eye. 

 The IAEA is actually a nuclear industry marketing organization, like the milk marketing board. These groups who are staffed by the same people, have their primary purpose to promote the nuclear industry, and nothing else.
